Delighted that the UN Secretary General has appointed Major General Cheryl Pearce to the position of Deputy Military Adviser in the Office of Military Affairs.

It was a pleasure to attend the @UNPeacekeeping Ministerial Meeting in Ghana with @MThistlethwaite. A great opportunity to discuss Australia's contribution to peacekeeping operations, solutions to global challenges & to strengthen relationships.
A privilege to lead Australia’s delegation to the United Nations Peacekeeping Ministerial Meeting in Ghana. Australia is committed to strengthening UN peace operations and it is essential this system remains effective in addressing global challenges.

I recently visited our close ally, the @USMC and my counterpart Brig. Gen. Simon Doran in Quantico, VA. As the @AustralianArmy embarks on a period of ambitious reform, both services agreed to important advances in our technological, industrial and security cooperation.

While in Canberra we visited Royal Military College Duntroon & met the @TNI_AD cadets. Two cadets will soon graduate, making them the inaugural TNI-AD graduates of RMC. RMC has a long history of exchange with TNI-AD, these cadets will be the first to complete the full program.

On 5 June I assumed the role of Deputy Chief of the Australian Army. I would like to thank LTGEN Natasha Fox for her continued service and commitment to Army & congratulate her on her new role as Chief of Personnel for the Australian Defence Force.

Today I had the honour of representing the ADF at the 82nd Anniversary of the Battle of Crete. It was a privilege to meet WWII veteran, Les Cook. Les is 100 years old, and served in Africa, Greece, Crete, Syria and PNG.
