@JasonRCantor @thebioKIMist This is an awesome study Jason. I think subcelluoar control of various metabolic pathways is super interesting. Further, how various metabolic enzymes engage (or not) with the mitochondria needs to be further elucidated.

While I’m biased, this was one of the best meetings I’ve attended. Congrats to the scholarship recipients who shared incredible science with us!
Congrats to all of the scholarship award recipients from our recent joint symposium, T Cell Differentiation in Tissue Microenvironments / Innate Immune Memory! @theLundLab #KSTCells25 #KSInnateImmune25 @DelgoffeLab @LMackayLab @DrShrutiNaik @LabFairfax @OstuniLab

Def funny, a little bit sad. But now all i can think about are huge colonies of myostatin KO mice running on thousands of tiny turbines.
Top 10 ways American Science can survive the 15% indirect cap: 1.Breed special transgenic mice that can run for days in tiny hamster wheel turbines to keep lights on 2.Get athletic program staff to donate 1% of their salaries to research thus raising 100 billion dollars a year.

@reallyclicking @bimald I'll also add that the nomenclature for indirect costs at the NIH is kind of misleading. An indirect rate of 60% is 60% of the DIRECT costs, not the total grant. So if you write a grant to cover 100k of direct research costs, the uni gets a check for 160k. 60/160 = 37.5%

@NeilShubin Also goes to show you that sometimes you just gotta take a break from experiments and come back refreshed and curious! 😂

@aaronmring Totally agree. Even Elon himself screwed it up when he first tweeted about it. The NIH nomenclature issue alone probably got us into the mess.

Read. Get angry. Call your Congresspeople.
1. BREAKING The Trump administration is maintaining a funding freeze at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in defiance of two federal court orders. The ongoing freeze was confirmed by an NIH official and internal correspondence reviewed by Popular Information. 🧵

@ConsultEMed I would guess it's our Republican Attorney General - however another lawsuit was filed by the APLU, AAU, which includes Penn and Pitt.
