Lugard came with the big lie that Yoruba are not martial when he shut us out of the Nigerian army from 1921. This was after he had used Yoruba troops to conquer the Sokoto empire between 1903-1906. The real reason was our challenge to British rule in the Adubi war of 1918.

Only the brain dead can say Ironsi abolished the Regions on 24th May 1966, by Decree 34, even though the Military Governors of the 4 Regions were still in place when Gowon's Decree 14 of 1967 decrees 12 States be "CREATED OUT OF THE REGIONS". When facts change, you should too.
