Breaking News ! 3 policemen dismissed for abduction, extortion in Abia *Abia CP Takes Disciplinary Action: Dismisses Three Officers for Discreditable Conduct* 1. The Commissioner of Police Abia State Command, CP Danladi Isa, has dismissed three officers for discreditable conduct, to wit conspiracy, abduction and extortion of their unsuspecting victims. 2. As a result, the public is hereby notified that: ▪️Force No. 501356 Sergeant Jonas Nnamdi, attached to Area Command, Aba. ▪️Force No. 511844 Corporal James Daniel, attached to the Department of Operations, Umuahia, and ▪️Force No. 511853 Corporal Ifeanyi Emeka, attached to Eziama Division, has been dismissed from the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) effective today, 07/02/2025, and has been handed over to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for prosecution with the other civilian accomplices. This action follows the administrative disciplinary measures taken by the command. 3. It will be recalled that On 29/01/2025, the aforementioned officers and two other civilians were apprehended by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Abayi after they were found armed with an electric baton, assault rifle, and a Beretta pistol respectively, conspired and hired a minibus, abducted some civilians along Port Harcourt Expressway, threatened and extorted them and thereafter demanded extra money from their families for their release. 4. The Anambra State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of nine suspects allegedly involved in the gruesome murder of Hon Justice Azuka, the member representing Onitsha North Constituency 1 in the Anambra State House of Assembly. Azuka was abducted on December 24, 2024, in Onitsha but his decomposing body was found in the early hours of Thursday February 6, 2025 at the 2nd Niger Bridge by a joint security team comprising the police and operatives of the Anambra Vigilante Group (AVG). The Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, confirmed the arrest of the suspects on Friday during a press briefing at the command headquarters in Awka, the state capital. Itam said that following the recovery of Azuka’s corpse, the joint security operatives acting on intelligent-led information arrested nine suspects actively involved in the unfortunate incident and recovered two pump action guns. “One of the suspects sustained a gunshot injury in his leg during a gun duel with the Police operatives,” the CP said. He identified the arrested suspects to include 30-year-old Ugochukwu Onuorah; 20-year-old Ikemefuna Ossai; 27-year-old Ikenna Orugu; 19-year-old Chibuike Obiefuna, and 19-year-old Chinonso Olisa. Others are; 21-year-old Chinedu Okoli; 25-year-old David Ojini, and 20-year-old Peter Sunday, described by the police as the most notorious of them with a big tattoo inscription of "No Peace 4 the Government" on his chest. Angry Villagers Stage Demonstration Against Anambra State Government Over The Mistaken Ki**ing Of 3 Isuofia Youths There is growing tension in Isuofia, the home community of the Governor of Anambra state, Professor Charles Soludo, over what the villagers term as mistaken identity leading to the ki**ing of 3 youths of the community by members of Operation Udo Ga Achi security initiative. A viral video collaborated with a series of voice notes allege that the 3 young men were victims of mistaken identity, and were working at a building site at Owerre-Ezukala when Udo Ga Achi operatives mistook them for k!dnappers and gun×ned them down. Angry women could be seen in the viral video expressing their outrage. The corpses of the 3 Isuofia youths have been used to barricade the road opposite the Catholic Church in the community.
