African Campaigner, filling the world with the promises of Renewable Energy, one climate policy at a time. I tried fossil fuels once - it was horrible! 🆘🤮🚯

@ghornerhb @PowerShftAfrica Ah yes, the best way to fight climate change: shame the people trying to solve it. Who needs international cooperation when we could just ask all 40,000 delegates to hop on Zoom from their backyards, as long as the Wi-Fi’s powered by windmills, of course? 😒

African leaders or rather developing countries were held hostage and failed to communicate that climate finance is not a charity but a responsibility rooted in historic accountability. Baku was a failure.

4) Global Clean Power Alliance: A group of 12 countries have come together in a. commitment to accelerate energy adoption. Weird right? Considering COP29 did not acknowledge the outcomes of COP28 on the necessity to transition away from Fossil Fuels.

3) A new buzz word: "mobilised Finance". What they actually mean is that developed countries will make developing countries pay. No one is coming to save you even though you are not the reason why we are in a climate collapse.

@ClimateEnvoyKe @ClimateEnvoyKe Africa has shown exceptional leadership at COP29, pushing for an ambitious NCQG that is grounded on dignity. Africa must remind the world that climate finance is a moral obligation, not charity. COP29 is a critical chance for real action 🔥💯🌶️

SPOTTED: Senior Just Transition and Associate @DeanBhebhe is in #COP29Baku this week. "I am here at COP to push back on the false promises under Article 6. The “unprecedented” decision to greenlight the rules in the opening plenary of COP29 regarding carbon credits under Article 6 is a dangerous and short-sighted ambition. Carbon credits are, in essence, permits to pollute." #COP29Azerbaijan
