Democrats have held all 8 California state offices since 2010, the full state legislature since 1996 and currently a ¾ supermajority of both chambers of the legislature. They also control most major local governments in the state. Where does the buck stop?

These pictures cry out for change. CA has invested more in wildfire prevention than any time in our history. Enacted bold climate policies. But it’s not enough. We must do more. We need action at EVERY level. CA cannot do this alone. Climate change is REAL. So please — VOTE.

In case you think California is a Republican political bastion, see this chart. In the region where I live, Republicans are a fringe political party. Yet the social ills persist - especially lack of adequate housing & water and population decline.

This is impressive - no one would have predicted it a year ago. It’s the result of community leaders committing to difficult, boring work of planning, coordination & finding public and private sources of money to pay for effective outreach. Ask @vidaproject831 how it’s done.

I just said a controversial thing: “I don’t consider it a victory for housing until the new unit is occupied.” You can enact all the housing policies you want & approve any project, but in the end what matters is places where people live. Focus on the end not the means.

@johnmyers Anyone suspicious that unions - the backers of #AB5 - created this video for the California Attorney General? I bet a public records request would reveal the truth!

Today I initiated an effort to get something I’ve long thought about: a Caltrans sign labeling where Highway 101 crosses the San Andreas Fault. This will be a long & probably futile effort but fun to try.
