Gratitude on Thanksgiving. I am so grateful to Houston Methodist Hospital for providing all of the resources to make something like this happen. It was only possible because of the efforts of many people.

It was a honor to be a judge at the Neuroscience symposium competition in Kaneohe Hawaii. Hawaii Medical students submitted 40 different abstracts! Governor Josh Green, MD, to my left participated. He is a fantastic human being with great compassion for all Hawaiians.

I am proud of our Laboratory who is delving into the metabolism of brain cancer. Metabolomics is a new and exciting field that may revolutionize therapeutic interventions. Identifying unique tumor metabolism provides new targets for treatment.

I am so proud of our women in Neurosurgery. They are incredibly talented residents and are all going to be superstars! All of our faculty are privileged to work with them.

It was an honor to present the work done at the Peak Brain Tumor Center in the Department of Neurosurgery at Houston Methodist Hospital at the Congress of Neurological Surgery meeting in Houston. Congratulations to our researchers, scientists, donors, and staff!
