Main issue is perceived safety net teams get after a poor league stage. Easy fix would be: - Top 8 automatic QF spot - 9-24 play two single leg KO rounds for a QF spot, with highest placed team playing at home City e.g. facing 2 single leg away games would be huge disadvantage
Aside from the obvious and very real concerns for player welfare... I don't know how you can be against the new Champions League format. Seriously unpredictable, regular shocks and some MASSIVE clubs facing real jeopardy for the first time... Big improvement in my eyes.

@grassrootsrefJa I know - hence why I said it’s a misnomer that you can’t be! For what it’s worth I think it’s a strange law. Can’t envisage many situations where you can gain a clear advantage from a backwards pass by being in an offside position

@grassrootsrefJa This makes sense, I knew it was a misnomer that you can’t be offside from a backwards pass. I wasn’t sure if it was the ball or the furthest point of the passing player that was relevant! Hence my confusion

Arsenal suffocated teams with their press last year- winning the ball high, but have reverted to a much deeper defensive shape this season. Saka can be really effective defensively through pressing high like Salah/Diaz are for Lpool. It’s a shape issue not a work rate difference
