@James1940 @WeHaveWaysPod @ww2wtg @almurray It's an interesting read. It really shines a light on soldiering and the physical and mental suffering, even years later. As well as the importance of support networks. Regardless of sides and guilt, there is always a human story. Thank you for sharing.

@James1940 @WeHaveWaysPod @almurray Growing up in the 60s/70s, you were brought up on Warlord and Commando comics, Airfix models, Action Man, and war films. None of which were historically accurate. What they did do was encourage me to learn more and even join the military. Rogue Heroes is simply today's version.

@Longreach_LAV @James1940 @WeHaveWaysPod @almurray Spent a bit of time in various deserts. It's absolutely freezing at night. It's not just a bit chilly, but a biting and sapping cold. Certainly an environment of extremes

@Artfulgiant256 @James1940 @TrentTelenko @WeHaveWaysPod @almurray Episode 4 tackles the tricky subject of PTSD (unknown at the time) and does it with some skill. IMHO, it is worth watching, just for that.

@WW2Airfields Twelve o'clock High was one of the 'Leadership' films shown to officer cadets at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. It was one of the only films that I managed to stay awake for. An incredible film, made so close to the end of the war. Real lessons in courage and leadership.

@CliveWardauthor I appreciate the sentiment of the post. But it was actually a reliable weapon. If you knew what you were doing, you could group shots at 50 yards. Its limiting factor was often poor batches of ammunition. For certain roles, it actually made sense. Bisley shooting team circa 83
