My wife has Covid, quite symptomatic. Got two boys, 6 & 3. I’m bedridden w/

. No food in the house. My mother has dropped off home-cooked meals & just offered to come again the next 2 days: food shop & cook more. Lives 1 hour away. My wife cried, overwhelmed by the kindness

Bedridden, I suddenly felt a burst of energy when my 6 yr/o son came into my room & asked me for the first time how to wear a baseball glove. I got up, stood erect, then walked into another room w/ him & tossed the ball for a few, the last throw culminating in a successful catch.

Fauci made a huge mistake when he banished the NIH-funded ME/CFS research centers 20 yrs ago. He had a $5 billion/yr immune institute & a post-infectious disease (ME/CFS) that advocates had been begging him to study for years. Now we know that long Covid & ME/CFS are linked. Sad.

I’ve now had two alternative health practitioners tell me that if I just start to reintegrate back into the world, I will heal my severe ME/CFS. As if I’m stuck in my room and bed because I just can’t take my eyes off the wall colors and white ceiling.

Energy is life. An energy-limiting condition like

means you can’t participate in life much, unless you’re mild. You have to sit on the sidelines & watch life pass you by. You scroll on your phone & complain to fellow sufferers abt how badly it sucks. I need a nap now.

It's awful. I was just telling my wife the other day that this illness is not sustainable and it feels like I'm just waiting to die. It would be wonderul to be able to live well with a chronic illness, but severe ME makes it impossible.

Compassion from clinicians for

is not curative, but it humanizes us & that is what we need until a treatment/cure is found. So I hereby announce the start of the Compassion Project, which will involve me telling doctors, one by one, to fuck off if they don’t show kindness.

Boston has some of the best hospitals around. You’d think that the roughly 40 doctors I saw here would’ve had some awareness of

. But no. The vast majority did not. The ME/CFS club, while great, is like the world’s biggest secret society that nobody wants to be a part of.

I hate it when people who have allegedly recovered from

say things like, "I ate a Snickers bar and I was cured the next day." And then I try eating a Snickers bar but my ME/CFS remains unchanged and I just get fat.

I don’t feel like it’s MY life. When something is yours, you typically have some degree of control over it (except children becoming adults). But I feel I have such a lack of control over this life as a severe

I read an article on Health Rising that mentioned how Fauci in the US here abandoned the ME/CFS programs back in the day b/c he felt it was too difficult of a disease to solve & they weren't getting anywhere. There definitely needs to be a lot more research on post-viral illness.

I got that when I was in the psych ward w/ severe ME. They made me shower every day. Brutal. My POTS just flared while showering, could barely stand up. Oh, & they want you to get out of that "sickness mindset" by not commiserating online w/ other sick people. That should do it.

An enormous tragedy. Such a young guy. RIP. I attempted suicide 2 years ago, left in a coma for 3 days. It’s the most unimaginable feeling in the world, bedridden and enduring intense suffering, with no approved treatments. We don’t WANT to die. We just want help!

If ME/CFS were a person, it’d be impatient, uncouth, narcissistic, possessive, cruel, mean, violent, chaotic, & amoral. In short, it would be a monster that nobody tolerates, except for those it takes advantage of, who can’t defend themselves, through no fault of their own.
