I'm very upset about a lot of things, mainly it's the consistent statement over the years of how PoE 2 development wouldn't impact PoE 1. However, the statements Jonathan made in this announcement are both honest, transparent, but also literally on schedule as they've posted in their timeline news update posted on 31st of October. A lot of people are claiming that they are lying in the video so I first thought I had missed something. I then decided to dig up every single clip/VoD to find out the 100% truth so here are the following statements timestamped and date marked: NEWS announcement from GGG 31st October - Confirming they will make an announcement late January regarding PoE 1 new league & that it won't happen in 2024: @ZiggyDStarcraft Interview 22nd November - Jonathan saying they took PoE 1 resources at the "tail end" of PoE 2 development: PoE 30th January Announcement Video - Jonathan confirming that they've taken PoE 1 resources for 3 months since the end of July / start of August (Start of 3.25 Settlers league): The above are proof with receipts showing that clearly the plans/hopes to release 3.26 in February was something they believed to be possible up to November 22nd. Between 22nd of November and sometime in December they came to the realization that this was no longer even remotely possible. At this time-frame I personally would have preferred them to make an announcement informing us of this. However, they decided to instead wait to put this information in the announcement that was already scheduled to happen late January as per the PoE 1 Timeline Update News post made October 31st. It's wild to me that there are people being extremely hostile and toxic spewing out comments that are literal lies saying things such as: ~"they knew 3.26 wouldn't be possible for February all the way back to last summer" The proof is right there for people to see. I understand a lot of us are upset, I'm bummed out about all of it as well. All I did was make a tweet essentially thanking for the transparency and honesty. This has created a tsunami of people calling me a shill amongst other more colorful statements which is absolutely hilarious as at the same time I'm also being told that I am criticizing GGG too hard. The comments are my off-stream comedy show before bedtime at this point 🤣 Ultimately, I feel that for the people who aren't enjoying PoE 2 are the ones getting the short end of the stick as not even a copy-pasta league-event was provided to compensate for the lack of attention PoE 1 has received. I'd like to add that it's very sad to see how our welcoming community could turn so extremely hostile/toxic. It's gone so far that there were accusations thrown without proof. Then arguments built upon those direct lies making people even more angry. The problem here is that people believe what they want to believe, others say things are XYZ without confirming that's the actual reality. This results in others taking those statements as factual information, and on the circle goes. To wrap it up I want to give @Pohxx a HUGE s/o for setting up a private league for PoE 1 enjoyers to engage with for the time being.
