I have a question @Keir_Starmer. If any civil servant at Downing St that receives a fine is a paid member of the Labour Party, will you "kick them out"?.
54
459
2K
Uh Oh - has Keir just created another Elsie, lying at the dispatch box? He cites "Phoenix" unable to fund power for their home dialysis. PM replies asking for the details as NHS funds dialysis costs! Great performance from Boris today - I hope he reports back on "Phoenix". #PMQs.

@lisanandy You're right Lisa. Boris apologised, rather than insist no rules were broken. Boris respected the met investigation, and Boris hasn't called for Sir Keir to resign now he's under investigation. Boris doesn't use emotional blackmail to deflect.

@bobmca1 Here's a shocker Bob - same nurse has been on Question Time! Imagine - a labour activist on Question Time spouting unchallenged nonsense!
75

883
@Keir_Starmer Will you also hand over all details relating to any labour MP who was found to have broken the rules in place at the time? That must include yourself, Stephen Kinnock. Richard Burgon, Barry Gardiner and Tahir Ali as a bare minimum.
52
129
857
@RachelReevesMP The last labour govt saddled nhs with PFI debt, sold our gold, raided pensions, encouraged massive immigration, frittered 3G billions, deregulated the banks and ran a deficit all BEFORE the financial crash. Hardly cause for celebration.

@GaryLineker This you Gary? Im assuming this was somewhere in the UK, so you didn't have a carbon footprint, what with you caring so much about the environment. How will you be getting to Qatar for the world cup?
61
119
792
@droopy_cock It's criminal damage, and is illegal. Who pays for the damage is irrelevant. Also, how much energy do you suspect is used in glass manufacture? All that heat / energy - absolute muppetry. I applaud jail terms and lifelong criminal records for anyone engaged in this vandalism.
17
55
758
@EricIdle Hi Eric. Really confused - you must have a different passport to mine. Which countries are you no longer able to visit with your new passport?.
20
32
714
@piersmorgan By population, we're doing well. Our govt had a plan to flatten the curve, and stay within NHS capacity, which is exactly what we've done. They have supported us economically, are explaining the current situation every day, and taking the scientific advice seriously.
55
74
698
@zarahsultana @eiecampaign "our class"? You're an MP earning over Β£80k, plus over Β£200k in expenses last year. And you think you're working class?.
33

Guy in the audience claims Β£150 council tax rebate has to be paid back, which it doesn't. No comment at all, or correction from Fiona Bruce - these are the basics. #bbcqt.
26

636
@carolvorders No word from you about Ed Milliband getting "impartial" advice from his own company?.
5
18
662
@AngelaRayner Firstly, the government isn't the employer. Secondly, the govt bailed out the rail industry at a cost of billions to the taxpayer to keep the railways going during covid. The unions have short memories.
27
83
583
@elliereeves Nothing was βcancelledβ - more lies. A decision had already taken by the previous govt not to renew the contract the end of its term. So, all that happened under Labour was that is expired. Why lie??? Playground stuff.
7
43
543
I'm curious. How many postmasters were prosecuted under @Keir_Starmer's watch? He seems to be very quiet on this - labour govt in place in 2000 when prosecutions began. Given he claims to have "prosecuted shoplifters" then I'm sure this passed across his desk. .
41
185
480
@KayBurley @Simonhartmp So, just to recap, there were no MP's. ministers or the PM present. Further the head of ethics who has been fined was previously a PPS under Tessa Jowell, and the parties were in whitehall, not number 10. This is a civil service issue, and measures have been put in place.
19
176
483
@carolvorders Wow - how can you link that to Liz Truss? You can't be claiming that all of those interest rate rises were due to a mini budget, rather than globally occurring inflation post covid? Meanwhile, gilt yields higher than any point since the 2009 crash post Reeves budget, and OBR say.
22
15
507
@CarolineLucas This from the woman who could have her party conference in a phone box. Time to move on.
21
71
469
@SocialistNHS You're only striking for one of those things - an award higher than was recommended, and accepted by the govt. How many nurses were made redundant, or furloughed? How many private sector workers get your pension level? I absolutely do not support striking nurses.
23
27
426
@cathysalter97 @theRCN So, youβre protecting the NHS by demanding a 14% pay rise on top of other recent awards?.
17
72
412
@PaulBrandITV @breeallegretti Excellent news. This is the one event, while the PM was miles away in Chequers, where the civil service seemed to let themselves down badly. Reminder - this is not ministers, MP's or "the govt". It's the civil service.
15
129
412
@joncraig So, you're saying MP's are being asked to consider the will of their constituents? No way? I mean, whatever next?! How is that dirty tricks? MP's must, above all, listen to their local associations.
18
42
412
@TahirAliMP The same Tahir Ali who broke covid rules to attend funerals with dozens of mourners? I wonder why your colleagues weren't clamouring for your resignation for "partying while their nan died". Meanwhile, if seeking advice on tolerance, why not have a chat with the Batley school.

@Femi_Sorry Very well said by Ms Braverman - she's absolutely correct, and the sooner we accept that there's a problem, the sooner we can move forward to solve it.

@CrimeLdn Heartbreaking for the greenskeepers who work so hard on a golf course, especially the greens. They aren't just grass - they are well drained structures cultivated over decades. Just awful, mindless vandalism.
4
5
421
@Peston Labour accused the Tories of βcrashing the economyβ at lower levels than this. They claimed a βTory mortgage penaltyβ, while recently the BoE stated rates would now fall more slowly than they would have due to the budget. You must call them out on their hypocrisy.
5
36
415
@Only9built Escooter at fault. Black back, wearing black, no lights, speeding with no means to stop at that speed. Reckless, illegal and uninsured for damage done to the car.

@AndyBurnhamGM Says the mayor of Manchester on Β£110k whoβs wife works with the company awarded all the EV charging stations in Manchester. Pretended to get any texts on the steps of town hall lately?.
10
148
361
@WorldByWolf Completely agree with your assessment. They were working 18 hour days in unprecedented circumstances, and to fine the PM for a slice of cake between meetings was always ludicrous. Additionally, wasn't the police commissioner in the north east the former Labour leader?!.
17
30
391
@Peston @BorisJohnson He'll have 100 before his plane lands. He overwhelmingly won the last VOC, and was ousted by the schemers on the basis of what looks to be a false allegation against Mr Pincher. The membership wanted him on the last ballot, and I suspect he'll win this. Only he can claim mandate.
48
32
333
@piersmorgan Also, Piers, anyone who has criticised you has been told to switch you off and go watch something else. Which I guess they're now choosing to do. You've been arrogant, aggressive, self absorbed and determined to pick fault. It's been relentless.
5
24
314
@piersmorgan I said weeks ago, without malice as we have often agreed in the past, that you were undermining yourself with your refusal to accept any positives, your technique on GMB of shouting over guests, asking loaded questions, then berating answers you didn't agree with. Its been awful.
10
14
316
@BladeoftheS Scotland receives Β£20bn more from Westminster than they collect in tax and oil revenue. Thatβs how.
11
8
341
@piersmorgan Why not blame the individuals Piers? Why do they need constantly telling to stay indoors by govt? If lockdown in London is collapsing, it's not down to Boris. Where's the Mayor? The police? Why aren't you using your platform to remind people of their individual responsibility?.
16
13
314
@LadyRebecca_1 @susannareid100 @GMB As soon as they let "band F" slip, you knew there was something amiss. Absolutely awful from GMB.
5
44
298
@DrRosena Is there any criticism for NHS managers, and how it's record funding is terribly managed and poorly spent?.
10
26
305
@carolvorders I thought you were politically neutral, and you wanted to hold govt to account?.
8
8
318
@RadioGenoa Its clear there's a serious road traffic accident up ahead, with a car on it's roof, and the road and area cordoned off. He's not just on a walk "filming a view", hes filming a possible crime scene. The poilce are, as always, doing a tough job.
156
1
308
@YvetteCooperMP @TellMamaUK Always, always on the wrong side, Ms Cooper. Why not work with Kim Leadbeater to get the Batley school teacher back to work in his community instead?.
1
12
299
@bbcnickrobinson Disgraceful that you didn't bother to fact check the Critic article before repeating. The lengths you lot will go to in order to sneer at the govt - just incredible. Where were you with Tahir Ali, Richard Burgon, Stephen Kinnock, Barry Gardiner etc.
2
52
280
@RichardBurgon Meanwhile, record numbers of landlords are selling up. You haven't fixed anything - you've destroyed a sector by removing protections from Landlords, and handing power to renters.
18
6
292
@susannareid100 Susanna, your bias is clear. I'm not sure anybody anywhere as accused the PM of "holding gathering". The worst instanced happened when he was at Chequers, and the issue is whether he was present, ie popped in to thank staff at events. JRM is right - we've moved on.
68
31
261
@CarolineLucas Always on the wrong side of the argument, Caroline. Peaceful protest will go on as always, but police will have powers they need to stop roads being blocked, property being damaged and allow people to get to work. How is that a bad thing?.
9
51
248
@Keir_Starmer Why is this a tory issue? Does everything bad done by any employer automatically fall under govt responsibility? As it happens, your "forensic instincts" are wrong - the employment contacts aren't covered under UK law.
7
35
249
@zarahsultana Does it mean weβll use more coal, or perhaps just that weβll use less carbon by not shipping it in from other countries, while creating jobs?.
5
13
247
@Keir_Starmer Yes, because you would never flout the rules. Also, you're being deliberately untruthful - nobody has suggested that Mr Johnson was at the alleged party in December, correct? Whether staffers stayed after work is one thing, but that's not Boris "hosting".
4
27
241
@piersmorgan You're literally losing your temper shouting, talking over the top and refusing to allow Matt Hancock to answer. This is awful TV, awful interviewing / interrogating / opinionated ranting. His team are people who've worked their asses off - he's not wanting credit for himself.
30
3
237
@IainDale Ian, I hope after reviewing the footage YOU will do the right thing and retract this. This was a left wing, momentum backed anti vax protest with Piers Corbyn in attendance. They were angry with Starmer for supporting lockdown, abandoning working class and prosecuting Assenge.
13
36
227
@Bibbeth6 It's not a gaffe - the SNP were asked specifically by the UK Govt not to reveal this data in a meeting with Sturgeon, to avoid other countries trying to pay extra and get those supplies. As always, SNP want to look more important, and on this, it was shameful.
11
76
236
@angelaeagle Said without a hint of irony from a party that claims economies have been crashed, that millions paid more on their mortgages, that the NHS was going to be privatised and still can't say what happened to Nick Brown!.
3
17
246
@NAJ562 The pearl that hangs in the middle of that crown was worn by Elizabeth I. That's the heritage we have in our country, going back centuries. I feel very proud of events today, and don't begrudge a penny of anything I might have paid towards it.
2
9
228
@andrewmeyerson We fought for you too. We wore our masks, had our jabs, stayed at home - all to "protect the NHS". And this is the thanks we get? No thanks - no support here.
7
15
228
@paulmasonnews @lisanandy Said without a hint of irony. Why is it only mudslinging when itβs coming in your direction. Itβs labour who made such a big issue of Covid rules being broken. You reap what you sow.
0
11
212
@Keir_Starmer If you remove the whip from Tahir Ali, Stephen Kinnock, Richard Burgon, Barry Gardiner, Nadia Whittome and the other rule breakers, then you can take the moral high ground. Meanwhile, you lied at the despatch box today about the PM's comments on the BBC - so much for honesty!.
10
45
207
I must have missed @AngelaRayner tweeting about this today! She's normally all over any whiff of a sleaze story. Well, unless it's one rule for them etc. .
Labour MP Barry Gardiner received a rap over the knuckles last week from the Standards. Commissioner. Gardiner had failed to register Β£30,000 of donations from two trade unions. Staff problems he said. He should have a word with his constituency office manager. Itβs his wife.
8
85
209
@AaronBell4NUL Bitterly disappointing. Now's a time for unity, to focus on the successes that have been delivered & the plan for the success of Britain. As you mention, your constituency has been awarded Β£35m of funding, Brexit delivered, a strong economy and winning against Covid. Some thanks.
104
22
207
@Geetagurumurthy If that's what you think you did, then you should look again at yourself. "he lied to the queen, he lied etc". There's no "some people might say" - you're absolutely pushing your own opinion as fact.
5
38
207
@KayBurley You just can't give Boris Johnson credit, can you. He absolutely did not refer to "thanks to pressure from the British people". The PM has led the way on this, and the country is behind Ukraine.
7
24
205
@AngelaRayner She did neither of those things, but of course, deep down, you know that. Meanwhile, 1st class trains, Ipods, hotel stays while claiming rent - how's that working out for you?.
12
9
199
@GreenJennyJones Just using these numbers to discuss the point, but hypothetically, if there 20m white males, and 100 of them are child rapists, and 10k Pakistani males and 100 of them are child rapists, which group statistically has the biggest issue? Then, if the white males are prosecuted, and.
4
13
217
@zarahsultana Important to note that their profit margin, before tax, is single figures, maybe 5% - they turn over in excess of Β£50bn, so while your terrible attempt at smearing profits as "obscene", how much tax do they pay, how many salaries, how much in employer NIC?.
9
15
204
@Mike_Fabricant Itβs not βcutting throughβ - we, the membership, detested the disloyalty and betrayal right from the start, but we havenβt been asked yet! It can never be Rishi.
4
53
196
@jessphillips Absolutely. I remember your show of support for Jacob Rees Mogg and Michael Gove last year when the same happened to them. Solidarity, and all that.
0
13
192
@CatherineWest1 Can you please also give credit to the Government, who got ahead of this, placing orders early, and for various vaccines? It's symptomatic of labour to blame govt for the failures, and praise NHS for the successes. I think some credit where credit's due.
11
1
191
@GBNEWS Β£400 million paid to secure her release, and she doesn't agree with her husband that the govt deserves thanks? Wow. I'm sorry for her ordeal at the hands, and instructions of the Iranians, but this is not a good look.
7
49
199
@Wakethefitup Labour were warned about cladding while still in office. Labour instructed the destruction of Windrush records. Labour introduced private provision to the NHS, and PFI. Sewage hasn't increased, testing has. Given lies seem important to you, important to be honest. .
13
26
202
Look at the names on this list. We know at least one person removed from the Jamaica flight went on to murder. Sir Keir Starmer's name is on this letter. He agreed with it's contents. Why aren't more people shouting this from the rooftops today?.#NeverLabour.
@ArchRose90 @NickFerrariLBC Sir Kier Starmer is on that list, example is this letter objecting to foreign criminals being deported!.BEWARE of what and who you vote for .#NeverLabour

@birmingham_live Wrong headline. Couple with no means to support them continue having children and expect others to pay is the headline!.

@adilray Jack Letts (Jihadi Jack) also had his citizenship revoked. A little actual research, rather than pathetically stoking tensions, and you might learn something.

@GaryLineker You're missing the point Gary. Have you been to Liverpool? That was a city built on slavery, and it's money. Are you suggesting it be torn down? Same with Glasgow. Penny Lane in Liverpool was named after a slave trader. Shall we destroy all copies of the Beatles song?.
29
14
176
@darrengrimes_ Everything that's wrong today in our cities especially. No respect for the police, everything is against someone's "human rights", and when it's the police getting attacked, people just film, but when trying to do their jobs, everyone jumps in. Until that is, they're needed!.
2
19
186
@BethRigby @jessphillips Really? I'm not sure I recall Keir Starmer's public condemnation of Angela Rayners infamous "scum" rant.

@SocialistNHS Nope. You're not striking to "save the NHS", you're striking for an unreasonable pay award.

@SocialM85897394 haha - we'll have our Β£16bn deficit with Scotland back then, shall we, along with the Covid funds they're squirrelling away for Indyref?.
4
28
180
@AngelaRayner This is ugly politics. Indian Law prevents dual citizenship, and there's no question that Mrs Sunak pays uk tax on UK earnings, and also tax elsewhere. There's no wrong doing here, and she's his wife, not at MP. Meanwhile, Stephen Kinnock?.
65
62
176
@EmilyThornberry That's already been done - an extra 25% levy on UK profits, taking the total tax on UK profits to 65%. What would you do differently, Emily, and how much specifically would it raise. Are you accepting you can only tax UK profits, so the Β£170bn figure is a fallacy?.
7
21
182
@HakunaMatata26C @gba390 @PaulBrandITV They're all the same Irene. Pippa Crera blocked me for wondering if she'd soon be getting a knock on the door about the photoshopped tinsel pics.
2
24
167
@UKLabour But didn't you want tougher, more expensive restrictions? Want to give everyone 100% salaries, pay rises for public sector, multiple circuit breakers etc? Can you point out how specifically you would have reduced the impact?.
4
6
165
@CarolineLucas @TheGreenParty Well done. 1 MP and one council, and once the locals start to feel the "benefit" of green measures preventing planning applications, cause traffic chaos and whatever other nonsense you try to implement, they'll soon regret it.
7
9
176
@RupaHuq I remember the letter labour MP's wrote to Pritti Patel, commenting to her about how she didn't have the right to comment on her own experience of racism. This is ingrained in labour.
5
40
175
@PaulBrandITV Wow - what a misleading tweet, but unsurprising from you. The BYOB event was around 30 people. The invite went to a distribution list, but many weren't in the office. The PM wasn't invited, but saw people in the garden and went to thank them for their efforts, and long hours.
17
19
166
@piersmorgan Nurses have job security, pensions etc. No furlough in the public sector - the private sector has been hammered. We're all grateful to nurses - of course we are, but just as grateful to lorry drivers, shop workers, drivers etc. Most people don't have the luxury of pay rises.
27
6
167
@AngelaRayner A statesperson like response, as deputy leader of the labour party, to the chancellor announcing $50m of new funding for Ukraine through the EBRD at the G7. @Keir_Starmer. is this labour policy to "do one" at Ukraine funding?.
