For me, it's always been about community. This borough has always been my home and I'm proud of what we've achieved here together but I know I can do so much more as your voice in Parliament — that's why I'm standing to be the next Labour MP for Barking.
Please see below a short statement confirming The Labour Party has dismissed the malicious allegation, which was the reason why I stood back from standing at the general election.
I would like to thank everyone who have reached out to me and my family since the start of this
Whilst I respect the shortlisted candidates.I will be supporting Margaret Hodge as our MP candidate at the next general election.Margaret has stood by the team through thick & thin.She saw off the BNP in 2010 with us & worked hard to serve us, local issues & supporting residents.
A stalwart of our movement, thank you to
@Jas_Athwal
for your endorsement. I welcome the support of my fellow leader, neighbour and friend. His leadership is second to none and his strength of character is outstanding.
I’m pleased to finally have been given the all clear of the malicious allegations made against me. I’d like to thank everyone showing me and my family support over this time.
Today is the day - I'm looking forward to seeing friends from our community to put forward my vision for Barking.
I'm so proud of everything we have achieved together but I know I can do so much more as your voice in Parliament 🌹
I am disappointed to have to issue this statement but after recent unfounded media stories I have no alternative. My statement makes it crystal clear my position. I have taken legal advice and will say more in due course.

Billy was a strong activist publicly and on the streets with us the residents of B n D and Jon/Margaret but Margaret got her first constituency presents at 102 north street leading up to the 2005 general election
I’m proud to put my support behind to great leaders from their respective communities. They will be a strong voice for local government on the Labour NEC.

Ilford is my home, you are my neighbours and together we can really make a difference.
@IlfordSouthCLP
I have seen this old video that’s doing the rounds. Obviously, what I said at the time was extremely stupid and embarrassing. I deeply apologise to anyone that I have offended. Through representing Barking & Dagenham, I have worked tirelessly everyday to build a better world for
A good week with the Evening Standard reporting on the largest datacentre in the London, Guardian reporting Pinewood wants to run in partnership with the borough the largest film studios in 25 yrs and comment from one of the judges on an award that we have been shortlisted for.

Morning Sheree, when did you say send me an email with this information? So I can find out why my office hasn’t dealt with it.
Great to be out campaigning again. Asking residents to sign our petition against the governments austerity forcing a “Cost to living”crisis on BD residents.
@LGA_Labour
A true gentleman/leader, a massive loss for the local government family especially within Labour Party. Those in Westinster could learn a lot from Nick and his values in leadership.
Great to be out campaigning with Barking & Chafford Hundred Labour Teams, helping my friend Jen Craft in Thurrock. The message was clear from residents/voters. They know the Tories have bankrupted the council and the country.
Really enjoyed campaigning with a great candidate Summya in Mayesbrook Ward this morning, pleased to say we had complete support from the community, signing the cost of living crisis petition.
Caused by this terrible Tory government.
Great to be campaigning with some of my colleagues in Mayesbrook ward. A fantastic response on the doorstep for our communities and Labour values in supporting one another against this Tory “Cost of Living” crisis.
Another great session today in Mayesbrook with the sunshine and our marvellous candidate, talking to all the Labour supporters about voting for the wonderful Labour candidate Summya. Thanks to all the activist, councillors and GLA member Unmesh Deshi for their hard work in heat.
Great to be out campaigning in the Mayesbrook Ward By-election with a fantastic candidate and group of activists. A wonderful response on the doorstep, looking forward to another Labour win.
my community, my family, and for my son who experiences racism in his life. I saw off the BNP with a coalition of colleagues from different backgrounds and that is the cornerstone of my leadership. I will continue to learn and to strive for representation in my area if I am
People ask me why council tax is going up and services are going down…. I tell them quite simply they should blame 13 years of austerity, leading to chronic underfunding of local services around the country every council could do with levelling up.

Sorry, I disagree… she contacted me and my office we got onto the service who sent round a surveyor to arrange for the works to be done. What we need to do now is chase up the work schedule.
Great session on a rainy day in Mayesbrook with our wonderful candidate Summya Sohaib, once again, a wonderful response on the doors from the residents….
A very sad indictment of this governments inability to fund/build the homes, Londoners and the country needs.
I understand a warm safe home is the bed rock of aspiration for every family.
Our latest data shows one in 50 Londoners are now homeless and living in temporary accommodation.
A homelessness disaster is unfolding in the capital.
We are calling for emergency action from the government to address the worsening crisis.

That’s it I’m Definitely not letting you go and play elsewhere..... food poisoning in China and our appendix in Birmingham....😂
Great to be in Mid-Beds with colleagues and activists supporting Alistair in his by-election. Looking forward to a Labour win after a fabulous doorknocking session. It’s clear people are fed up with the Tory lies and shenanigans.
Congratulations to our England lionesses.. An outstanding win and achievement to get you through to the final of the Women’s World Cup. I along with millions of others in UK will be supporting you on Sunday. 💪🌹👏

I believe this is once again the Conservatives poll-tax moment, I can see a lot of Labour gains in the various areas across the country in 2021..... residents realising that they won’t have a say on 1.5 million homes being built in their villages!

Thank you to everyone that joined the Interfaith Covid Memorial Event yesterday evening and to all the speakers who shared their reflections on the loss we've encountered as a community over the last two years.

, we must remember those from the UK and the Commonwealth who protected Britain during World War II for their immense sacrifice and pledge our continued gratitude to our armed forces and their families for what they give to defend our freedoms…
Proud to take part in this annual

event, along my friend Cllr Jas Athwal leader of Redbridge and prospective parliamentary candidate for Ilford South and the wider Sikh community.
This was a speech of a true leader, who understands the challenges of a neglected nation, acknowledging 13 years of decline from a terrible Tory government & 5 PM’s and showing why he is the Prime Minister in waiting.

It has nothing to do with shaming the council. It’s about having the right resources and equipment over it bank holiday weekend. The People that should be ashamed are the people that are dumping it there.
It has been an honour to work with

International women’s day
Incredibly proud of celebrating the women of Barking & Dagenham.
Every man also have a role in celebrating women today, & every day to show gender equality matters because only by respecting, valuing, & empowering each other will society move forward.
Wishing everyone a very happy St. George's Day!
The story of is about courage,defending those who need defending, and good ultimately triumphing over evil. This speaks to English values of respect,tolerance,freedom and equality-values we celebrate today.
I’m proud to say I’m standing up for residents in Barking & Dagenham. The Government should be encouraging local authorities to enforce essential guidelines and keep communities safe, not reprimanding them!
Barking and Dagenham have always been a proud trade union area from Ron Todd and the women of Fords who got the equal pay act through… I’m proud to be standing with my colleagues and councillors. Supporting and urging everyone to join a union.
Great to work with Leeds credit union in delivering low-cost loans to help residents of Barking and Dagenham, to support them through the “cost to living” crisis
@nickbowes1975
I couldn’t agree more with you Nick, I’m still so angry about the whole situation. We forced the police to refer themselves to the IPCC. We were told not to contact Jack’s family and we had to fight very hard to have the coroners inquest at Barking Town Hall.

It’s an operational matter, not something I can deal with directly. I must rely operational services to carry out the work. Can I suggest you send me an email today? Because my office can’t find your latest email.
I couldn’t agree more with my colleague! The most annoying thing is government knew this was coming back in early December because public-health England had warned us as London councils.
Cases of

are at record levels, our hospitals are struggling under relentless pressure and every day hundreds of people are dying
We need an immediate nationwide lockdown to stop the spread of the virus
The government must act now &

Once again, the facts, trump, the rhetoric of this Tory government on being on the side of the motorist and the country. After a long list of lies with their assertions to blame, others on ULEZ, LTN’s and climate emergency etc.
I was invited to spent the evening at Al Madina Mosque where i had the pleasure to met with His Eminence Sheikh Mohammed Al Yaqubi at the Grand finale of the Guide to Goodness tour.
Sheikh Yaqubi thanked me for all my hard work in helping residents of the borough.

We cannot afford the Conservatives' chaos any longer.
Britain deserves better than this.
It's time for a Labour government that will put this country first.
It was a pleasure to go out with you enforcement team on Friday night to see the work they are doing to keep us all safe and I was dismayed at businesses who put profit before people. Frankly I don’t want them operating in LBBD.
We're putting people before profits in Barking and Dagenham and that's why we're enforcing against businesses not following the latest coronavirus rules. If you know of a business not playing ball, report them online here:
Thank you to the England lionesses for once again, showing us pride, professionalism and determination.

Couldn’t agree more, without the right stimulus package we are going to lose far too many businesses which means unemployment escalate to unbelievable levels the government must now
After the challenges of this year, London’s businesses need much more support. Ending VAT-free shopping would be disastrous and discourage international shoppers from visiting London's shops.
London’s businesses need an urgent emergency support package:

So proud to stand with a man who put people before profits..... It’s a disgrace that every Londoner is being attacked by this Tory government whilst dealing with this pandemic as a community.
Our Labour Mayor of London has stopped

He wanted to punish Londoners for doing the right thing & staying safe.
Remember to vote for someone who stands up for London next May. Vote
