One of the worst characters in poker is the cocky mid-stakes pro who avoids playing against players better than him and makes fun of anyone he can beat. Don’t be that guy.
The best players in the world are often unsure about their decisions and constantly question themselves. Charlatans drape themselves in false confidence and are more concerned with making justifications and how they are perceived.
Developed new sense of respect for my 19-year old self last night as I timed out sober 4-tabling. No clue how I could take bong rips and crush buffalo wings while ten tabling back then.
Interesting parallel between the Hans and Robbi cheating scandals in that it required an elite player at a major event to step out and make a bold accusation for an investigation to come forth and things brought to light. (1/4)
One of the reasons poker is beautiful and unique is that anyone can compete in major events against the best players in the world and actually have a shot of winning. Are there any other games where this is possible?
Instead of dwelling on the super close decisions that you may have gotten wrong, focus on finding patterns in what’s happening when you’re performing at your very worst. Improvement there will be both easier to make and more beneficial overall.
It’s the bubble of the Main Event and you’re dealt pocket aces. 3 people who have you covered go all in before the action gets to you. What do you do?

While it’s only natural to form and voice our own opinions, going forward we should give more precedent to the top experts who had front row seats of the incident and are taking enormous professional risk in voicing their opinion. (4/4)
Back out in Vegas at WSOP and seeing a lot of burnt out players. Reminder that it's healthy to take some time off to recharge and reset, and doing this may even make you more money than grinding every event. There will always be more poker tournaments.
Another

in the books. Likely to fall on deaf ears but making my annual plea to condense the series. Seven weeks is too long, scrap the events after the main.
Many different ways to make a living in poker. Tournaments/cash games, online/live, mixed/NL etc. Few players win across the board in all formats. It’s important to find your most profitable niche and put in volume in that arena. (1/2)
A bracelet will have to wait until another day for

, but it took a wild runout to send him to the rail.
He earns $725,790 for his 3rd place finish.

Hope you guys address color-up/race off policies. Lately seems to be movement towards getting small chips off the table too quickly. WSOP 100k yesterday the 1k chips came off at 5k/10k which limits sizing choices and blind level options. Also players like more physical chips.
We should put an incredible amount of weight on where these accusations come from.

With this mystery bounty format becoming so popular worldwide, I urge players to stay vigilant on keeping the drawing process transparent and random. Highly lucrative opportunity for any nefarious tournament staff.
Been meeting a lot of young aspiring players recently at tournament stops, and their excitement and passion for poker is inspiring. Long-time pros can often become jaded and lose sight of the fun of the game. Awesome to see the wonder of someone just starting their journey.
RIP Mike Sexton. So sad to lose one of our legends. Mike’s iconic voice and excitement for the game were one of the things that got me into poker as a teenager. He always had time to take a picture, tell a story, and leave a positive impression with fans—a true ambassador.
Opened up smoking season yesterday with this 7 lb pork shoulder and some chicken thighs. Homemade dry rub then smoked over apple, maple, and hickory wood

Magnus and Garrett both have large platforms and took a ton of criticism while levying their allegations. To step out and make statements with little-to-no evidence besides the play of their opponents should prove the conviction of their belief. (3/4)
It’s always refreshing to me to see the emotion of the recreational player. A big part of what makes pros successful over the longterm is our ability to distance ourselves from the monetary and emotional swings of the game. But it can leave us jaded, great to see the other side.
Reaching that point in the summer where people are completely losing their shit. Nothing wrong with taking a few days off to reset and recharge.
