I’m good with maybe… no one playing Castro? At least not in a film where he’s described in stage directions as “radiant, exuding power and sex appeal, a rock star” 🤮 How does this serve the public?
@somebadideas
I was a background actor on Cruella and we all got scanned. I didn't think much of it back then (we were told it was to make the crowds look bigger), but… yeah, wish that hadn't happened!
How peaceful I am when I die.
I no longer fear death,
I no longer fear
the heavy weight of the ceiling,
the walls, the windows
or even the bookshelves.
I will have no eyes.
I will have no nightmares.
I will regret nothing.
I will fear nothing.
Please don't forget me when I die

@zukosmadre
a white woman talking about how scared she is of walking the streets because of oppressed minorities… reminds me of… something. I just can't place it
@somebadideas
What happened was we were doing the shoot as normal, and members of crew would come up to about 2 or 3 background actors throughout the night and take them somewhere. I didn't find out that we were being taken to a trailer with a scanning rig until it finally became my turn.
@somebadideas
As for my contract, I genuinely can't even remember signing one, tho I probably must have at some point? I know for a fact I never received a copy, because I just looked through all my paperwork from that time.

This Zionist goon Matt Mehdizadeh, and his buddy Nouri, spent multiple nights blasting a particular Israeli children's song at the encampment known to be played while the IDF tortures Palestinians.
Public officials cannot say they didn’t see this coming.
ICMY: 1. This is the piece Ive been working on for 2 months & talking about here. It’s about Disney placing the Fox film library in its vault & denying repertory showings to most theaters. Additional detail about Disney’s corporate practices generally.
Fully expecting a strike from SAG-AFTRA next. Most actors are not stars with a never-ending revenue stream, and the stuff we've been hearing about pay lately… yeah.
A significant chunk of American film history is now owned by Disney and apparently it's all fine. Can't wait to see how they hold even more classics hostage using the "Vault" system.
@BrndnStrssng
I was so confused after watching Ghostbusters for the first time, because it's like… that's it? That's what nerds have been making a big deal about for 30+ years?
@mattzollerseitz
Something I often think about is when Thor: Ragnarok was first announced (with maybe just a writer?), they revealed it with a dark and gritty animated title card. The next time they had one of those events, Waititi had come onboard and the new title card was neon rainbow.
Unity is closing VFX company Weta Digital, which it purchased from Peter Jackon for $1.6 billion just 2 years ago.
265 people will be laid off, with Weta FX hoping to re-hire as many people as possible. Unity will keep Weta's tools it acquired:

They say this stuff all the time, it's so funny
"Globungus: The Spearhead of Charmander has become the most popular show to ever exist according to our secret internal data"
Many things can true at the same time:
Killing Israeli civilians to free Palestinian hostages is wrong.
Killing Palestinian civilians to free Israeli hostages is wrong.
Israelis masquerading as humanitarian workers is wrong.
Hamas holding hostages in civilian homes is wrong.
@RaceplayShawty
I swear comics are like one of the few media where preservation almost doesn't exist. Every reprint is like if studios decided to only release movies that look like those 4K60fps youtube videos

Their first movie with a female lead happened 10 years in. The only Black avengers were just side characters for the longest time. There were like no brown people until this year
