ICC The rules of war clearly set the boundaries of combat. A soldier who has surrendered or who is wounded is outside them. Attacking a combatant who has surrendered is murder and the same also applies to attacking a combatant who has been wounded and has ceased to pose a threat.

What's almost more interesting is how counterproductive it is militarily. It floods all Russia's defenses at the head and down to the sea. They win a week to a month of wetlands then advance will be relatively unobstructed for Ukraine. It's complete panic to buy a small pause.

If you read Russian press there were alway big industrial fires and arms depots blowing up. Corruption , neglect and illegality made it normal. There is now more and some will be sabotage but I bet a lot it is just safety shortcuts due lack of staff and economic collapse.

I've whipped around the military trades no one has ventured an opinion yet. Reasonably educated guesses should emerge in the next few hours if Whitehall doesn't itself specify. Probably Bofors and Oerlikons pulled replaced on warships by missiles over the last decades.

Because the Poles have a good army. US forces are to facilitate the larger US response not be border guards. You have to hold the first attack and then respond. Invasions are repulsed after days of fighting plenty of time for yanks to join in Poland if needed.
