@James_Wit James these are my better soils and im not expecting above average on them. The late start to the season and the drought took its toll, plus for the next 4 weeks there has to be good moisture which i doubt we will see. I cant see SA having close to an average bean crop this year

@RickBieber81 yes they do, but some are more prone than others Here in SA we have hybrids that will set 3 ears , same size at a certain pop. At this pop here these are supposed to only do like 1.2 ears, but 1197 for me has a higher, maybe 1.7 number at higher population. for us.

The type of bean i like. This is a Pioneer, 52T52R. It has 48 flowering nodes, with packets up to 22 pods per node, planted at a 115k/acre population

Soybeans still fighting the good fight, Really need rain again, high temperatures now is not on their menu.
