Guy at the table is calling clock on all stallers. Then a short stack raised, got 3 bet by a big stack, was remarking how it's so sick. Obv had KK. Clock guy called it on him, dude erupted, folded KK face up, and told him to fuck off. Lol!! 3 from money.

Going any better? Not really. I have 781k.
But we are now in the $25k minimum cashing zone. Why does this matter? I embarrassingly shot off $14.5k in buyins prior to this event. So this puts me in the black for the 2024 WSOP.

We’ve hit the money. 821k.
In last 14 Mains, I’ve made deep day 3 nine times (2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2017, 2019, 2021, 2023, 2024), and cashed 4 of those.
I have never cashed for less than double the min cash.
Best 2 finishes were 88th (2010) and 128th (2019).

Ran a check raise bluff with black 77 on KQ4 two diamond board against semi-short stack who nervously bet like he was really strong or really weak. Read weak.
Turn 7d. Wow!
Put him in, he turned over KQ. Oops. He was not happy. River 4. Donked my way to 162k.

For the 13th out of my past 14 WSOP Mains (2014 being the exception), I’ve bagged Day 1.

Not really hooray.
But I will take an above average 111.8k into Sunday’s Day 2ABC.

Taking a nearly double average stack to Day 3 at noon, just like I did in 2019 when I finished 128th. Hopefully it won't be like 2017 when I chunked it off and played crappy. Frequent updates right here! I have 321k.

My euro friend did his 3 betting pre again, and it didn’t work out for him. I check raised KJJ flop and he folded. Did I have it? Hmmm

Friends, whatever happens here, it was a nice experience and nice run. When I was experiencing my issues last year, I thought I may never play again. To come back to the WSOP after that and run deep in the Main has been great.

Of course it finishes on my BB. As always. In that hand, I played a heads up pot with button, and one of us had KK. It wasn't me. I finished with 321k, a very nice turnaround from my bad start to the day. See you Sunday for day 3 at noon.

Bagged 317500. Had a high of 368 and was dominating this amateur heavy table, but ran into the exact shortish stack size where JJ was hard to fold, yet could also sting a bit.
Aside from that blemish, a good day which exceeded expectations.

To address some concern by railbirds, no I am not "playing the pay jumps". However, it's worth noting that I won't be walking away with less than $50k for my efforts, as with 225 left, we now get $50,855 minimum. I have about 1.7m.

New short stack player oddly laid down top pair ace decent kicker against a big stack on ace flop.
Big stack said he had ace and a low card! Short stack preserved his final 40. Next hand he had 55, shoved, but I had QQ, and busted him. I bet he wishes he called before!

I have mixed feelings. I was semi short coming into today, and never had more than double average the entire event. I also didn't hit draws all 4 days. I did mostly avoid taking bad beats, so that was a plus. Always hurts to bust Main, but 568th was fine given everything.
