Fred Brown, aka Deacon Scratch gave us a glimpse into his multimedia studio. He is a generalist who provides audiovisuals services for events. He agrees that our community needs safe streets and a structured path back to Black Wall Street in Dallas.
Golden BLK is a novel space where you can make your own luxury candles(or order your own). They do things differently and offer a choice of beverages while you can relax and enjoy some recreational time with a craft.

We aren't here to appease hypocrites who wouldn't a) send their kids to FAILING public schools in the DISD, b) wouldn't be caught dead teaching in FAILING public schools, c) live in at-risk neighborhoods or d) trade places with us and take the brunt of the damage from disparity.
We were graced with the opportunity to interview Leslie Barajas, owner of Studio 201. Another shining example of a local minority business owner in Dallas ready to take part in a brighter tomorrow.
Be sure to support her hair salon!
It was great meeting up with Alicia, who has some candid insight into our youth's needs in the underserved areas of Dallas...and highlights the importance of vocational training.
Make sure to support her, and we wish her the best.

We will never forget when places like the Hunnicutt took us in and told us about the hurdles they faced.

Dallas needs more community and recreation centers for children 'at risk'. They need safe havens like the X-bar and Grille where they can eat family-style meals and have good, clean fun with responsible adults. DJN is here to give these sheroes a hand up.
A word from Ndure....we will keep showcasing minority businesses because we have to dispel this aura of dependency and provoke an attitude of ownership. These local businesses are of tremendous value to all of our future.

Cameron Cooper aka Chief Rebel was an innocent bystander; we wish him a speedy recovery. We are all fortunate that he is still with us, and we want nothing but the best for him and his family.
@POTUS
You drafted a plan that led to hundreds of thousands of Black families to be separated from their fathers and we bear witness to consequences of that today, all while your son was never ever held accountable for illicit activities and outlandish behaviors.
Repair the damage.
Big Shout out the Dallas Underground Radio.

is taking place in the DTX. We love to see our people pursuing their dreams in Dallas and making them happen despite the hurdles around us.
It is a good time for different conversations.
"Education is not a tool for development - individual, community, and the nation. It is the foundation for our future. It is empowerment to make choices and emboldens the youth to chase their dreams." - Nita Ambani
Ismail moved to North Texas from Wisconsin in 2008.
"He came here for opportunity to raise his kids here, open a business. He was so excited about this state he was telling us to move here," said Dualeh.
Morning thoughts. One of the consistent themes from the viewers who lean "right" is the absentee father figure trope. Black men from all walks of life often work around the clock for their families and extended families with their basic needs unanswered...Time and Resources.
But only 21 public schools in Dallas County that serve a student population where 80% or more are from low-income families received an A this year. By comparison, 34 Dallas County schools serving similar student populations weren’t rated at all.
"Our children are our most precious resource and their education our most important obligation."
-- Quote by Amos Wilson, who was a prominent African-American scholar, author, and activist.
Morning thoughts. If you sell hard drugs to children and they OD for your profit margin then you should spend the rest of your natural born life in the criminal justice system. It is straight up ridiculous how tolerant we are of this degenerate nonsense.
If your mother and father provided you with the privilege of an elite education, then you took advantage of school choice.
Underserved neighborhoods deserve that same option so that at-risk children can have better odds of leading successful adult lives.
It was a tragic weekend for public safety in Dallas. And that makes us sad because when we should talk about small businesses and how exciting it is to focus on that American dream...we have to turn our attention to something we all need: safe streets in which to operate.
Blendz by Huncho is another Black-owned business in Dallas.
We will encourage our people to embrace the entrepreneurial spirit to have their version of the American dream.
It's all about the mindset.
Props to Huncho for picking up on that early.
We are excited about Greenhouse Salads opening up in South Dallas. Why? Accessible nutrition is a fundamental facet of any thriving community. Fewer liquor stores and more healthy alternatives never did anybody wrong.

The gov't intervention will only help so much because it sets the stage for developers to revitalize these sectors. A motivated minority business class is what lets us stay in place.
Choose wisely...and encourage others to do the same. Hopium is dangerous. Hoping that the ER or police get there on time with Narcan. Hoping that you don't have that "hot dose." Hoping you don't pass a hot dose that leads to someone else's downfall. Think it thru. Choose wisely.
"We have a powerful potential in our youth, and we must have the courage to change old ideas and practices so that we may direct their power toward good ends."
Mary McLeod Bethune an African American educator, political leader, and civil rights activist 1875 - 1955.
Nestor Hernandez had previously been arrested twice for parole violations. Everyone still wondering why they let him go out on parole in the first place...
It is a conflict of interest. Especially if you are being conned out of choices because of the class you belong to. Our children are not to be used as bargaining chips on a table.
If you or someone you know is having a mental health crisis, it is of the utmost importance to reach out and get help before the innocents are affected.
Something I picked up a long time ago. The big bone I have to pick isn't the fact we made it...it is that we don't get all the benefits...mainly because we are not educated to be financially literate...so we spawned these genres, yet we pay for them with our lives.

We had the pleasure of meeting a veteran who makes his money off the street. Damian and his wife are the owners of BlueSmoke Tacos and BBQ. Get award winning grub right off the street in Dallas. They need safe streets to operate.
What is your take on the

video?
Our hearts, thoughts and prayers go out to that man and his family.
(Personally I cannot watch that trauma inducing video.)
I hope everyone who played a role in his untimely demise get the justice they deserve.
It is hard to imagine a severe and repressive power struggle in which you get incarcerated for ten whole years for dancing with someone you care about.

*Another* mother of a Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD student said she alerted school officials to rampant drug use and pill peddling last spring but administrators “turned a blind eye.”
MJ from "Addicted to Slay" believes owning her own business is the path to the future. This is why we need safe streets and opportunities to get ahead.

Police are human beings who are also subject to the same human frailties that we all struggle with.
Jealousy, rage, envy, spite...and other deadly sins can play a role in this horrific act that took place.
There is more to this than some "perp on the run."

An 11-year-old victim is weighing heavy on our hearts today...murdered by his mother's ex...a man with a stack of priors.
The tragedy is that the system ignored the red flags n warning signs.
So excited about Greenhouse Salads opening up in South Dallas. Why? Accessible nutrition is a fundamental facet of any thriving community. In South Dallas, nutritional deserts are real. Healthier alternatives never did anyone wrong.

"We must stop blaming white people for our problems and take responsibility for our own lives."
-- Amos Wilson, who was an African-American author, psychologist, and educator who wrote extensively on race, culture, and education issues.

Seems like the white people saying Black people should not have a choice in schools either send their kids to elite schools or don’t even have children…
This is our South Side Steaks and Cakes video. Props to N'dure for his work on this; we love how it turned out. We want to encourage everyone to support local businesses and stop by when you can. A great restaurant that works with the community.

Our hearts go out to his mama, Cynthia. It is a sad situation due to the nature of the crime. If there is insufficient evidence, then that can lead to a wrongful conviction. Two wrongs don't make it right.

. I get asked how we can make kids more appreciative of what we have...It is found in exchange programs. If we sent students on supervised tours of other nearby countries, they would quickly realize what a gift it is to be a U.S. citizen. If they only knew.
Jay the "SharpShooter" has been an unseen force behind the camera for DJN. It is great having him onboard lifting the community up. His work ethic and concern for Dallas make him a great candidate for any available photo/video contracts/subcontracts in and around Dallas.

@POTUS
You wreaked havoc with your draconian crime bill which fractured Black families and then act as if a federal holiday, token appointments and a concert is sufficient repair to make up for the past while you were sure to spare your own son from that same sense of justice.
How
First, our thoughts and prayers go out to Jacob Cohen and his family. Second, one of the shooters turned in 3 firearms and ~$500 as a penalty/plea deal for his freedom. There were families present as the shooting took place.
The issue is that the withdrawal symptoms are so intense the user can't help but to keep buying...which is even more awful when it is a juvenile. We have to clean this mess up...somehow.
Here is one reason why we are advocating for community-centered charter schools. The teachers, students and parents must be from the same community because it fosters better familiarity.
