Last night, my son was shot in the eye with a rubber bullet while peacefully protesting for justice for George Floyd. His story is not unique. Countless others have also experienced this use of excessive police force while trying to have their voices heard.

Luckily, his eye was saved due to a kind stranger that was handing out goggles to protestors shortly before the shooting and another kind stranger that drove him to the ER. Others were not so lucky and will be permanently disabled due to excessive police force.

Nancy and I pass our condolences to all of Hank's family today. So saddened to hear the news of Hank's passing. There was a certain spirit, even a reverence, when in Hank Aaron's presence that you could feel. Grace, strength, integrity. We were blessed to have known him. @Braves.

Willie was my favorite player growing up. As I watched him play in Candlestick Park as a kid you could feel his exuberance and love for the game. I had a Willie Mays glove as a kid and one of my prize possessions is an autographed bat of Willie’s. I got to shake his hand and play

Luke was one of my favorite coaches in the minor leagues with the @Braves. When Luke hit this HR.I thought ‘wow. great for Luke!’ I was 26. Now that I’m 63. I simply cannot believe he did that. In 12 yrs I’ll be 75. at that age, if my best bolt goes 100 ft I’ll be shocked.

OTD in 1976, 20-year old catcher Dale Murphy made his Major League debut for the Braves in Los Angeles against the Dodgers. He recorded his first career hit in the 4th inning with an RBI single off Rick Rhoden and added another RBI single in the 8th off Charlie Hough.
