The funeral of the Fourth President of Somaliland, Mr. Ahmed Mohamed Mohamoud Silanyo, brought together the largest number of attendees ever seen at a state funeral, with people gathering from across the Horn of Africa and around the world. This turnout reflects the outstanding leadership he demonstrated during his lifetime. Among those who participated in offering condolences were national leaders, delegations representing various countries including the UK, Ethiopia, and Djibouti traditional elders, religious scholars, intellectuals, and some of the prominent business leaders in the region, including the Chairman of Dahabshiil Group, Haji Mohamed. During the funeral, some media outlets interviewed the CEO of Dahabshiil Group, Abdirashid Duale, who expressed his condolences to the late president's wife, children, extended family, and everyone affected by the loss. He added, "May Allah grant him paradise."

#Ethiopia: Locals, authorities battle to put out massive fire in #Addis_Abeba’s largest market A massive fire has erupted in the Shema Tera neighborhood of #Merkato, Addis Abeba, causing extensive damage to buildings. Reports indicate that the fire is rapidly spreading, with efforts underway to bring the situation under control. In a statement, Addis Abeba Mayor Adanech Abebe expressed her deep sorrow, saying, “We are deeply saddened by the destruction caused to property.” She also noted that while efforts to contain the fire are ongoing, rescue operations have been complicated due to the narrow streets, making it difficult for fire trucks to access the area. Mayor Adanech added that authorities are considering the use of helicopters to assist in the firefighting efforts. She urged all involved to intensify their efforts to prevent further damage.
