What would help parents remain in work in the NHS? - Flexible shifts, workplace nurseries, subsidised childcare, reduction of the gender pay gap, zero tolerance to poor behaviour…… and more. @willquince @SteveBarclay @paygapsmedics @medicalwomenuk.

Over a long career, time off for maternity is small. We need to stop seeing it as a problem and regard it as an investment in the future workforce #FGDebate.

Just thinking. the majority of people in the NHS are women. with a 1% pay award, and the majority of people on the hospitality sector likely to lose jobs are women. Hmmm. This is not progress for gender equality. @paygapsmedics.

@RCPLondon My last day as PRCP. It has been a huge honour and privilege to serve as President, and to be part of a wonderful organisation. I am sad to be leaving, but confident that the RCP will go from strength to strength under my successor Bod Goddard.

We need more clinical staff in the NHS. It is time to prioritise this to improve the wellbeing of staff, and the safe care of patients.
'The Nightingales have shown that in an emergency you can build ventilators, you can adapt buildings and you can manufacture personal protective equipment – but unfortunately, there is no magic NHS staffing tree to shake.'

We need more doctors. Not quite how we imagined it happening. but let’s not waste the opportunity! Good luck everyone. Let’s do it.
We are delighted to confirm that we can now offer places to all students who meet the terms of their original offer for Medicine to start this year, rather than deferring to 2021/22.

When I was on a Trust Board, the agency and locum bill was the biggest component of the Trust overspend every year. Surely it would be much more sensible to invest in adequate staff numbers. Yes, we need to adapt how we work, but there are just not enough of us.
And just to confirm that #NHS agency and locum bill for 2019/20 - a staggering £6.2billion. When will govt stop shying away from this - the NHS needs more people. @RCPLondon costed plan for the medical component starting with medical school:
