If there is a workforce shortage, especially in the NHS, why do we continue to tolerate a society where childcare is so difficult to manage and fund? Parents need good childcare to be able to go to work.

Feel worried to admit this here, but I think telephone consultations are great. Efficient, effective, and acceptable to most patients. But clearly not everyone, and that’s fine.

Advice for NHS interviewers. If you interview someone for a post, and tell them you will ring with the outcome…. please do it. It is rude not to, and undervalues the people who have made the effort to come to the interview.

When I was on a Trust Board, the agency and locum bill was the biggest component of the Trust overspend every year. Surely it would be much more sensible to invest in adequate staff numbers. Yes, we need to adapt how we work, but there are just not enough of us.
