Because (after the breaks that everyone can use), that's when IHT kicks in for a married couple. How many farms worth over £3 million are being inherited each year? Do you think that could afford 20% on anything over that?

This is insane.
This fact alone warrants a wider investigation, to find out how many staff hold this belief that it is better not to use the emergency bell at a birth centre because there's no emergency bell when you give birth at home and that using it would scare other mothers. @mpmwilko 7/
