I just did my first test drive. No recalibration, residential streets were near perfect 5-6 over, ( 30/31 in 25) ( 41/42 in 35). Driving out in the country on winding county highways was appropriate for the partially snow covered conditions most of the time. However, lane positioning was a bit sketchy, I had one critical disengagement when the car cut the corner on a 20mph curve( crossing double yellow ) just as another vehicle was coming into the turn from the opposite direction) speed was 20-24mph and road marking partially obscured but still visible through the thin layer of snow. Had the other car not been there, I would not have intervened. I also had a few other critical disengagements due to the car speed being to fast for conditions (10 over). I had a couple times where I’m confident the car would have slid off the road on a couple turns without me intervening I could feel the floating under regenerative braking. Btw, be sure to set Brake regen to LOW, if you have the option. Too much regen can cause the vehicle to lose traction on wet snow driving conditions ( all-season tires) Given the Winter driving conditions, the car did pretty well, still a way to go when it comes to all weather driving. Humans definitely have advantage with proper experience and respect of the road conditions.

@MarcoRPi1 @TeslaPhx @jrosinski97 @hectorramos @vm_one1 @miketerrill @SteveSasman @greggertruck @brandenflasch @theOGLindy Yea, yet another Metro area Supercharger. 🤦🏼♂️ Please! @TeslaCharging fill the huge gaps on US Hwy travel corridors in the Plains and Upper Midwest, not everyone wants to be forced to the Interstate system.

@RocCityBuilt @peterrhague The entire concept of Starlink was brought about to be the primary ongoing revenue source for funding the “Mars Mission”. Many countries of the world are indirectly funding the mission.

Current flat rate EV surcharges unfairly allow states to collect road use taxes upfront regardless of any miles driven and do not capture any revenue from out of state transient vehicles. It is an unfair funding mechanism. WI is one of the first states to impose an energy road tax to all Public charging stations. Residential is exempt. The EV registration surcharge fee covers any Residential home charging.

I just put 100 miles on today, just to get the Low Voltage battery replaced. Without replacement it would not allow any Software updates. Interestingly, most of the drive was 12.5.4.2. It did really good. I’ve noticed over the course of 3 months I’ve had, it seems like it’s been getting better over time. Almost like it’s, self learning. It’s not V13 by any means, I had the chance to experience V13 a week ago. But it does seem to be smoothing out somewhat. Nonetheless, I hope 12.6 drops soon.

@DJSnM Also, I’ve experienced a horizontal tail plane stall ( due to ice buildup on the leading edge while on autopilot in a cruise climb through a cloud layer) It gets your attention fast as you are thrust forward at cruise speed.

@Gestii @28delayslater No! The Froo, Froo eggs are the cheap eggs at my grocery store. (due to long term contract pricing) 50-60% less than the Commercial raised ( normally cheap) eggs.

@jonbbc Damn, I just got the message to replace my 12v battery, yesterday. It won’t allow software updates until that’s completed. I’m headed to Tesla Service on Monday to swap it out.

Well, most of the ECU’s, Display screens, cameras wiring harnesses, some Glass various sub-components of the battery Pack are Mexico and China. Tesla claims there vehicles are 72-76% US made. That may be true based on vehicle Mass weight. Body shell, HV battery, Drive unit assembly, Seats etc. But when you look at the small details you see a lot of made in China, Mexico and very little from Canada.

Yeah, everyone does it occasionally. Hell, you can’t even look at the vehicle display more than 3 seconds. Try driving across the Plains states where the interstate is large straight and empty. You’re trying to keep your mind engaged so you try to look ahead on the vehicle Map or adjust a SuC stop location, super annoying when the car can safely hold the lane near indefinitely.
