According to the Italian press, Giorgi rushed to notify her retirement and flee the country because tax authorities are after her, due to a missing income declaration. She’s supposedly in the US right now.

Kato accidentally hitting a ballgirl.
TT: poor Kato, it wasn’t on purpose, Marie/SST are witches to ask the umpire to defaul them.

The only male player to win the calendar GS in the open era was Rod Laver in 1969, when tennis was totally different from now and 3 of 4 GS were played on grass. The only man in the last 50 years to be just 1 match away from the calendar GS is Novak Djokovic. When did your fave?
Anyways, Iga Świątek is by far the best number one women’s tennis could have right now, and she proved it once again today. I hope she stays there for long.
Both Novak Djokovic and Naomi Osaka made history at
#CInCyTENNIS
.
Djokovic is the first player ever to win all Masters1000 at least twice.
Osaka is the first player to withdraw twice from the same tournament.
Despite all the controversies about her, Maria Sharapova has probably been the most popular and iconic female tennis player ever, and a champion of course.
That said, she had basically been retired for two years now, so not to be surprised.
Happy retirement Maria!
Comparing Nadal to Alcaraz is basically the same as comparing Swiatek to Radwanska or Tauson to Wozniacki. The only thing they have in common is the country they are from.
Petra Kvitová confirmed that she’s playing Indian Wells and that will be her last tournament of the year. She also said that she wants to rest and get stronger for the next season, and that’s good to hear. She isn’t retiring anytime soon.
Petra is not even celebrating after the win and looks emotional, as she knows it might have been the last time she shared the court with CSN.
These are the small details that make her belong to a superior level and deserve the sportsmanship award more than anyone else.
Brenda Fruhvirtová, queen of Argentina, is making her debut at WTA level in
#WTAGuadalajara
qualies tonight, at 14 years of age.
I am so excited.
POJĎ BRENDO 💪🙌🇨🇿!!!
A final between a Belarusian and a Ukrainian would be the worst thing that could happen to this year’s Wimbledon.
Imagine the usual shite about handshake, speeches and stuff, but this time in a GS final.
Naomi is such a pure soul, all this hate she doesn’t deserve it.
Nd maybe its time to change the therapist coz its not good for you to go back and watch someone who really started all your trauma at first place.
Stay strong
@naomiosaka
❤️❤️
Markéta Vondroušová’s granddad passed away.
That’s the reason why she withdrew from Indian Wells and Miami.
My deepest condolences to her and her family 💔
The fact that Novak Djokovic will end 2022 as
#5
despite having basically missed 3 GS out of 4, having missed all the US tournaments and having played just 11 events in the whole year isn’t talked about enough.
Fifteen year old Brenda Fruhvirtová just won her fourth pro title in Danderyd 25k beating in straight sets German veteran Mona Barthel and tomorrow she’ll be the youngest ranked inside top 300!!!
VÝBORNĚ 🏆🙌💪🇨🇿!!!
I wish some of the Russian tennis players, either male or female, said something against the invasion of Ukraine, but I guess it’s safer for them not to do so.

Petra Kvitová will be back into top 30 on Monday, and back to Czech number 3 in the rankings. She has got almost nothing to defend from now on, so her ranking can only improve.
Petra had just won the biggest title of her career since Wimbledon 2014 and wanted to celebrate with her team first of all, which is fully understandable.
That little girl was where she shouldn’t have been.
Petra signed tons of autographs after the ceremony.
Get a life.
Full scene of this issue, the little girl had been waiting for a while before, and her mother saw there was no one in front of the guardrail, so thought celebration was over and let girl to request an autograph, but that team guy came down from behind again and pushed girl away.
Ngl, Nole being granted a medical exemption to play AO despite being unvaccinated hurts me as a private citizen, cause I had to get jabbed 3 times to live like a human being or even just go to work, millions of other people all around the world did the same and I was
They are a very nice couple and, like I already said a few times before, he is a good coach and a good person, and I am sure they love each other.
Furthermore, I believe that, if it hadn’t been for him, she’d have already retired for a while now.
God bless them 🤗
Happy 30th Birthday to the best, nicest and prettiest twins of women’s tennis
@KaPliskova
and
@KrisPliskova
.
Have a great day and hopefully we’ll meet at Nando’s again.
Všechno nejlepší 👯♀️🥳 🎂🇨🇿!!!
Ostapenko’s run in Dubai gives extra value to Petra’s performance against her, since she’s the one who went closer to beat her. If Petra stays healthy and keeps up to that level she can have another good week in Doha.
It’s a wrap. I am going home tomorrow.
I had the time of my life in Madrid.
It’s a fantastic tournament and I am thinking of coming back every year from now on.
Someone pls tell my haters, so that they might already start working on a new fake story about me for next year 😉
Happy 32nd Birthday to my absolute Queen
@Petra_Kvitova
.
I always feel proud and honoured to support you, and I am always there for you, through thick and thin.
A huge champion and role model for anyone, on and off the court.
Všechno nejlepší Peťo 🦁🎁🎂🇨🇿!!!
This is interesting.
Victoria Azarenka, who is playing Linda Fruhvirtová in Miami tonight, played her first WTA qualies in 2005 just one week after Linda was born, and she did in Prague, Linda’s hometown 🇨🇿
Una settimana dopo la nascita di Linda

, per la prima volta in carriera, prendeva parte a un torneo di qualificazioni WTA.
Dove? A Praga, in Repubblica Ceca, terra natia di Linda.
Quest’oggi si affrontano a Miami 16 anni dopo.
Brenda Fruhvirtová at 14 years of age has just grabbed her very first win at WTA level in her maiden WTA match at

Guadalajara, against 34 yo Sara Errani.
I am in awe.
VÝBORNĚ BRENDO!!!
PARÁDA 🙌💪🇨🇿!!!
I cannot believe that the one and only Barbora Strýcová, at 33 years of age, will play on Thursday at
#Wimbledon
against Serena Williams the first Grand Slam semifinal of her career.
And I am crying 😭
Petra Kvitová is entitled to play as long as she wants and until she’s motivated to do so. Even if she did not win a single match anymore from here to her retirement, she would not tarnish her legacy. Everything she’s achieved throughout her extraordinary career is here to stay.
Happy 30th Birthday to my Queen and biggest source of inspiration
@Petra_Kvitova
!!!
I feel blessed to be your fan and I couldn’t have any better fave.
You are a role model for anyone.
Have an amazing day and celebrate it to the fullest.
Všechno nejlepší Czech lioness 🦁🎾 🎉🇨🇿
So Petra is pregnant, like I’ve suspected for a while.
Will she ever come back? Only time will tell.
Anyways, if this is gonna be the end of her formidable career, all I can say is that I am hugely happy for her.
At least she’ll have ended it on her own terms.
Petra Kvitová has won 26 titles in this decade, whose breakdown is:
- 2 Grand Slams
- 1 WTA Finals
- 1 WTA Elite Trophy
- 3 Premier Mandatory
- 5 Premier 5
- 11 Premier
- 3 Internationals
I assume she quite deserves to be amongst the top 10 players of the decade.
I’d love Novak to play AO but, if only vaccinated players are allowed to play and he isn’t vaccinated, then he should rightfully not be entitled to play. As simple as that.
I said it before and I’ll never get tired of saying it.
Samantha Stosur deserves one of
#AusOpen
main courts to be renamed after her.
Sportsmanship, professionalism and commitment at their very best.
Legend.
Karolína Plíšková will be missing YEC this year for the first time since 2015.
It’s sad in a way, but it also shows how consistent she’s been in the last few years.
