The start of what looks to be a productive year for @InfiniGods despite the initial bearish token price action post TGE. The short term price is nothing but noise as I see it. If the team succeeds over 2025 in capturing web2 players, web3 will have unlocked a new gaming paradigm and that's going to be reflexive in the hype and the price of the token. We just need results so visible they cannot be denied. On Monday the team is kicking out the first iteration of a significantly expanded game @KingOfDestinyIG with $GOD token fully live with some live ops campaigns targeting web2 players entirely from within the app (no external leaderboard etc). The initial game was just an MVP, and quite limited one at that. Now the real game with significantly expanded game loops is finally arriving with quite a few upgrades coming over the next few months. Expecting significant iterations and updates to the game over February and then full web2 user acquisition in March and then we are going to start to see data on how tokens, completely abstracted, impact UA metrics (D1-D7 retention, spend, session length, etc). My bet is they make massive differences that you will never see in a pure web2 game. The superpower of tokenomics (if done right) in gaming. And now the launch of Godchain, @InfiniGods layer 3 mobile gaming chain built on @b3dotfun. This is an interesting move given that B3 is essentially Base's 'gaming chain' that will used to onboard consumer-focused games onto Base. I expect B3 will push a LOT more attention to gaming, as Base (via B3) will start throwing a lot more support for consumer-focused apps. Keep in mind that B3 is essentially built out by the @base team (former team, hence the close ties to CB and Base). I've staked almost all my $GOD tokens and acquired more assets to up my exposure. The overall market is terrible right now for anything but the majors (alts are trashed) and the web3 gaming has vastly underperformed over 2024 with all of the top efforts not yet playable. But despite this, there are strong candidates for real success hitting the market for the very first time ever, and these actually have a chance to onboard web2 gamers at scale, and if so, see significant revenues. I personally think we will see the first (and most) breakout success in the mobile gaming space, so I'm directing most of my attention and liquidity now to web3 games in the mobile space that actually have teams and products capable of capturing web2 players at scale while also generating significant revenues, which will be funneled back to the web3 side. The teams that can do this and do this over 2025, are frankly only a few (most gaming efforts are mid-tier and honestly are not good enough to compete in the web2 space for players). But the projects that can and do will garner huge success if they do. And my entire bet is they do. I'm personally very excited to see how the web3 gaming thesis plays out. It's still just a thesis, but I think by the end of 2025, we are going to have enough data to finally answer yay or nay with some reasonable confidence the question "is web3 gaming inevitable'.
