As a reward for their outstanding exam results, 41 of our Year 7 Mandarin Excellence Programme students travelled to Liverpool’s World Museum on Tuesday, 19th June to see the ‘China’s First Emperor and the Terracotta Warriors’ exhibition, accompanied by Mr Edwards and Mr Mercure.
On Friday, 25th May, 200 pupils and staff members gathered in Victoria park for the College's annual 5K charity run. They ran 2.5 laps of the park before receiving their medals from Mr Sheeran. All money raised will be donated to Cancer Research and the Cystic Fibrosis trust.
We would like to congratulate one of our Year 7 students, who has just achieved worldwide success with his modelling career and is now the face of a JD advertising campaign in addition to keeping up with his school work.

This afternoon, 5 students were rewarded with an Easter egg gift from charity, TUNZA after being nominated by Abi Powell’s Grandmother to thank them for their fundraising efforts. Over the last 6 months they have raised £4,500 which has been donated to Cystic Fibrosis charities.
It is fantastic to see so many happy faces after collecting GCSE results collection!

On Tuesday, 1st May a group of our Year 7 students went on a trip to the Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester. They took part in a “Creative Science Materials” workshop, designed their own space suits, learned about the properties of objects and viewed the exhibits.

The Year 7 and 8 cricket teams took part in the annual cricket tour to Loughborough on Friday, 6th July to Sunday, 8th July. They played 2 matches against Loughborough Grammar school and there were notable batting and bowling performances from both year groups.

One of our Year 11 students has won a competition to design a flag to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the twinning of St Helens and Stuttgart. The Stuttgart Council have awarded her with an all-expenses paid trip to Stuttgart to be involved with the celebrations.
On Tuesday, 24th April, 16 of our Year 7-10 students attended the final Book Awards St.Helens event where they had 2 workshops on writing and graphic novel character design. The winner of BASH 2018 was announced and ‘The last memory of Flora Banks’ by Emily Barr took first place.
