Pima County SAR, Tucson Fire - Rosemont and Pima Stations (engine 7 and ladder 4), & the Coronado NF worked together to perform a ladder rescue over the low water crossing.
Great teamwork made this rescue happen.

A pair of mountain lions, likely both sub-adult and possibly siblings, were caught on a game camera with their meal. A little while later, a couple of coyotes came in to clean up what was left.

This weekend’s rains have many washes and canyons flowing throughout the Sky Islands. Lake levels in Pena Blanca and Parker Canyon have also been given a boost. Here’s a video of Sabino Canyon on Sunday morning when flows were near their peak.

7/2/2023 Beehive Fire - From the city of Arivaca residents and visitors are able to see the fire creeping across the landscape in the distance. The fire is more visible as the sun sets, but is being managed by the Type 3 Team. There is no immediate threat to any structures.

Our fantastic Recreation Crew completed a project at the Bear Wallow protecting an important riparian ecosystem.

Over 2 weeks, miles of oak and New Mexico Locust stalks were cut back, dozens of trees trimmed, and over a thousand feet of tread restored.
This beautiful trail is now passable and ready to be enjoyed
