Because the US government is not financing them any more! Guardian writers, please THINK. If the US govt was financing them, they were not independent, were they? But here's something else worth noticing. On the side of the article is some tiny tiny print – which reveals that the Guardian received cash to print this article. Who finances it? Well, there's a long list of donors, one of which is the infamous billion George Soros, famous for secretly financing media corporations to control the narrative. Guardian – fail.
