Cork County Basketball Board are delighted to welcome Jim O’ Donoghue of Neptune Basketball club to the position of President of the Cork County Basketball Board. One of O’ Donoghue family brothers who has kept the heartbeat of Neptune alive. After a successful playing career he became an integral part of the stadium project and a member of C.C.B.O.A. Jim fulfilled every role in the club and for many years also served the Cork County Basketball Board as Secretary and fixture secretary. Chairman of Cork County Basketball Board Willie McCarthy is extremely happy that Jim has accepted the position of President and is “looking forward to him assisting myself and my fellow board members in striving to make Cork Basketball better”. To mark to the occasion Willie McCarthy, Chairperson of the Cork County Basketball Board presented Jim O’ Donoghue with a token to mark the occasion this evening at the Energwise Neptune v UCC Blue Demons Super league game this evening. The Board would like to thank @neptunebc for their hospitality tonight and their help in both organising the presentation and the fundraising that they did tonight for the Cork un14s teams trip to @eurobasketballCup2025 @BballIrl @echolivecork

Exciting news. Cork County Basketball Board in association with @corkcitycouncil are sending an UN15 Boys 3x3 team to represent Cork City at the International Children's Games in Talinn Estonia in August 2025. Details of trials will be sent out to Clubs shortly. @BballIrl @CorkSports @echolivecork @BigRedBench We keep working, our kids keep travelling abroad to improve their skills.

Over 70 Boys turned up for Cork County Basketball Board UN17 Trials this morning under Coach Ger Noonan @Neptune1BC and Assistant Coach Jamie Barry @Bluedemons_BC . The team will have a busy year with Tournaments in Limerick on Easter Monday, the Inter Area Board in May and a trip to Coventry at a date to be determined. @BballIrl @CorkSports
