I realize whatever I say is gonna come across as biased because of my name and content I like to put out.
The hype imo comes from the fantasy football community. I agree there is a lot of hype and maybe too much
Anthony Richardson content frankly is pointless because you can
Anthony Richardson’s rookie season has been completely blown out of proportion. There was a little good, a lot of bad, yet apparently he’s already arrived according to just about everybody.

This is why the film matters.
On the broadcast this looked like a really bad ball from AR, but in reality it's not even close to as bad as it looked.
For my money, Granson takes his route too far upfield so he has to break stride.
It's also a helluva play from 27.
Keep in mind that Jason Bean is listed on the roster as a QB/WR...
I am keeping the
@CoachDanCasey
idea alive that Shane Steichen watched KU's offense last year and we'll see a 2 QB package.
We need it. I need it. America needs it.
Now this is absolutely gorgeous.
Great base and lets this thing rip when he gets to his back foot.
I truly believe if he can get his eyes and feet to consistently sync up like this... 😮💨😮💨😮💨
Ignore the rest because they aren’t in pads, but it’s really not fair putting AD on these tryout DBs.
Look at where the corner is when he makes the catch. Man I’d love to see the release on this route
You don't typically see UDFA QBs in their first NFL action look this calm against Zero.
Colts are in 52 protection (5-man slide for the Will or the Ni in this case).
Bean is hot off the MLB and shows no panic standing in the pocket under pressure.
This has been a pretty embarrassing outing from Anthony Richardson.
But necessary painful reps that if you weren’t prepared for now than you should start preparing yourself before the regular season
Genuinely so curious how the Jelani Woods narrative changed so quickly?
He was always going to behind the 8 ball, and I thought he showed some awesome things in the preseason game.
Yes, It's a crowded room..but cutting ties from him would be a big mistake.
Initial reaction: I never thought Latu would ever make it to 15, and if I had to bet, neither did Indy.
Didn't think that would be the pick, but also don't hate it. A Chris Ballard pick through and through.
Again I have a lot of respect for the Colts media. They are fantastic.
I don't think that question was remotely fair or well thought out at all.
He hired a young HC that took a team that was pathetic in 2022 and completely turned the trajectory of the team around.
And a week
Do I think Sam Ehlinger makes the roster as the third QB?
Probably.
Does Jason Bean have objectively more upside being on the 53 and have a clearer path to dress on Sundays?
Yes.
Coming to the realization my content just isn't for everyone.
A lot of people on here begging for their take to be heard and uninterested in actual analysis/discussion
Not everyone has to agree, but just know I put a lot of effort into the breakdowns before attacking me.🤝
Houston vs. Indy will be a fascinating roster construction study in the years to come.
One team is aggressively building around their rookie QB with big-ticket FA's.
The other is bringing back their core pieces and will look to continue to build through the draft.
I would put myself in the camp of people who think Chris Ballard is one of the most intelligent GMs in the league, so I rarely question his decisions.
That being said... the draft has to be focused on building a juggernaut around AR. Has to.
This is my last tweet about AR until the film comes out.
It was an embarrassing performance. Meaning that what he and the entire offense put on film, is not up to their standards.
There will be a lot to correct, and that's ok.
Not everything is meant to be a take for
I am sky high on AD Mitchell.
Not worried about the "character". This a team that had guys suspended for gambling, suspended by the league and by the team. You do the math.
Josh Downs injury last season contributed to some offensive struggles in the middle of the year.
I'm not sure, that Gould is "just a returner"
You can line him up at
#2
Weak in empty to give him a two-way go vs. a S/LB, and let him cook.
I've seen this enough on tape now to say this is a pattern.
If Nico Collins cuts his split down (which they do a good bit), just look at what leg is up and it will tell you where he wants to go.
Per a source (
@nerlens_
is my source)
AD Mitchell looks to be taking reps at the X spot. So unless things change, safe to assume Pittman will play the Z again.
Grover Stewart is so crucial for Indy.
A lot of people know that he helps stop the run but not HOW he does it, other than being 300+lbs.
Notice how C/LG are getting zero movement on the double team. This is an IZ run and Grover prevents them from climbing to the LBs, keeping
FILM ROOM: The Colts made a big move at WR by drafting AD Mitchell.
I broke down his fit in the offense, and what he brings to the table in Indianapolis:
That's the backside C block that gonna earn Jelani Woods the playing time he wants.
I thought he had a really solid outing that he can build upon on heading into joint practices.
I think you walk away very happy with what Ballard and his staff walked away with.
I'd imagine the draft didn't go their way at every spot, but no doubt they accomplished a lot for the future of this football team.
Ideal Cover 3 beater in the Steichen/JBC system called “Bass”.
It’s basically inverted Hank. (Curl-Flat).
Not my favorite playcall, but it’s a completion play that helps a QB get into a rhythm.
Decisive throw/drop from 5 and a great route from 10.
When Shane Steichen says AD has a special ability to separate at the top of routes, this is what he means.
These are the plays that win in the league. Way more than the flashy go balls, I promise.
QB gets to the top of his drop, WR comes open, rips it for a first.
There’s a lot of ways to coach press technique but this certainly isn’t how Gus Bradley wants it done.
Totally mistimed the off hand-jam and loses leverage and position maintenance.
Why Shane Steichen will have this offense rolling in 2024.
Empty Formations
Jags are running Whip Fire Zone (WLB Blitzes B Gap, Field side DE is a bonus dropper, 3 weak FZ coverage behind it)
Richardson has all the answers he needs before the snap because the Colts are in
I've seen this on Twitter today so I thought I'd weigh in.
Pittman has played the Z in Indy since TY has left, just from hearing Shane Steichen talk about AD's arsenal of releases vs. press man, I think it's safe to assume he'll be competing with Alec Pierce for the starting X.
This is made for a niche audience but…
Shane Stiechen drawing up 6 man slide protection vs. 4 weak for a bunch of third graders is absolutely hilarious to me.
I will die on this grave: I don't mind Ballard taking a bet on JuJu and Jaylon.
Make a cutup of all the explosives Indy gave up. There were so many coverage busts/miscomm. back there.
That's fixable. There's nothing on tape that says they don't belong on a NFL field.
Jason Bean is by far the most unique UDFA the Colts signed.
I'm not entirely sure where he'd fit on this roster if he makes the team, but he has big play ability + RZ upside... no doubt about it.
Every week I'm gonna try and put together a cheat sheet with a schematic breakdown of the matchup, opponent tendencies, etc.
I always thought game preview content could be more in-depth for fans. So that's what I'm aspiring to create.

Here's my best guess on the INT judging from how they ran this concept/similar concepts last year.
Kylen Granson has this Return route. He can sit it down vs. Zone or "run away" vs. Man or any kind of match coverage.
The Bengals are in a weak-rotated Match 3. It's a tricky
This is the second time we've seen AD win effortlessly on this Hitch & Go route.
It takes years to get open in the context of a real game, but if you set it up right with a hitch earlier in the game... Watch out.
Someone is getting burned on that this year.
Where Jelani Woods fits on this team is really interesting to me.
For my money, he was pushing unplayable on run downs in 2022.
But there's nobody on this roster that is as hard to matchup with defensively than he is. His size/speed created a ton of explosive plays.
An offense consisting of
Anthony Richardson
Jonathan Taylor
Michael Pittman Jr.
Xavier Worthy
Josh Downs
And this creative offensive staff?
Sign me up right now. Thats a headache to gameplan for.
-Anthony Richardson completed a game in the NFL (Week 4 vs. LAR)
-Steichen didn’t call “QB Sweep” on the season ending injury
- Stiechen actually had the perfect playcall for man coverage on the last play of the game. Gardner/Goodson just didn’t complete it.
I'm pretty bummed out about Jelani. The casuals will make the "made of glass he sucks!" comments.
But these players go through a lot more than anybody on this app realized.
He worked like crazy to even get back on the field.
Will be muting this convo because I know what I’m walking myself into…
But asking Ballard if he thinks he’s on the hot seat is crazy.
Not because the results haven’t been good enough, they haven’t.
But because the same people calling for Ballards job don’t realize Steichen
.
@BrettKollmann
and
@FootballEJ
have this special ability to put out content for all 32 teams like they're only doing it for one.
There's stuff here that is so nuanced it's impressive. And this is coming from a guy that only studies the Colts.
The second Simmons signs a deal for a team not named the Colts, there will be a lot of the "Fire Ballard". That's what the nature of the NFL is.
But I also think it's more than feasible to acquire a safety not named Simmons that can raise the level of competition in that room.
Not that this needs any more attention than he’s trying to get with this tweet…
But it’s hilarious to criticize someone for benign analysis and rebuttal with incorrect analysis
@minakimes
it’s not that I “disagree”as much as this is such incredibly benign analysis ..
- here in indy we know Ballard kisses ass like no other so it’s always same ole same ole w you folks
Colts haven’t won the easiest division in football in Ballard’s time …yet every year National
Cross is trying to bump this motion since Flowers has better leverage to take the jet motion, but he doesn't move so Cross has to fight over the pick to try and make a tough play.
Someone's wrong here.
Justin Simmons would make a Jessie Bates in ATL type impact on the Colts defense.
I’m not gonna hold my breath, but cautiously optimistic that at least one of these free agent safety’s will land in Indy.
The Colts did dodge a bullet, but they also would be wise not to rush Downs back.
Downs hit that rookie wall right around the time he was fighting back from injury last year.
He's a pivotal piece to this offense but simply not worth rushing back.
We're looking at a class where ~4 QBs should go before pick 15 & probably 2 tackles as well.
Colts have a very good chance to be picking one of the top 5-10 players on their board.
All while being one game shy of the playoffs.
I don't want to see Joe Flacco play this season, but I also kinda do and I think we got robbed.
He is so damn polished and I still don't understand how teams didn't see what he did in CLE last year and not want that as a bridge QB.
Just thinking about this play..
The highs are so ridiculously special.
It's a mistake ever letting yourself give up on this guy. Even through some of the inevitable lows.
For those who might not know, when a WR you have in M/M or aligned over in zone "crack blocks" a DE or LB, you now have his gap. You have to get in fit ASAP.
Tyquan gets cracked by Amari Cooper so Kenny now has his gap in between the LT and no. 3 WR
I feel like this is something important to talk about when it comes to Gus.
In 2023 he blitzed 18% BUT did it at 47% on 3rd and long.
So it's not fair to say he sits in C3 4 man rush all day.
That being said, I think some of his pressures could have been more effective if they
MHJ has a 1% chance of happening. But if for some insane reason Ballard pulls it off?
I'm sprinting to the Pat McAfee Show to hear Bill Belichick's reaction
When you talk about bend with edge rushers..
What you're really looking for is how low a guy can get when turning the corner, with ALL his cleats in the ground.
The pole and angle doesn't really do it justice, but his inside knee is damn near on the turf.
