I love Man of Steel, I love this scene, I love the self sacrifice Pa Kent was prepared to deliver to protect his son. But, I STILL don't know why Clark's ultimate decision wasn't to save his father from certain DEATH. Respect? Fear? Idk. So I can see how this was a turnoff.

Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones are pretty fucking terrible by most metrics; especially the pacing, writing, dialogue, and acting. But I adore those movies and watch them at least once a year. They feel like art-house films that buck trends, just like The Acolyte.

I ADORE the prequels. Revenge of the Sith may very well be my favorite Star Wars ever. But it's so rich to hear prequel diehards criticize The Acolyte for bad dialogue. Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, and even Revenge of the Sith have horrible pacing and atrocious dialogue.
