Everyone gets so caught up going D1, I’ve seen D1 go back to Juco then end up at D2, or D1 to NAIA, I’ve seen D3 to Juco to D1. Doesn’t matter where you begin, just begin and keep working, it’s all going to pay off, maybe not right away, but it will, if not in the game, in life!

Parents be careful how you act in the stands, you could be sitting next to a college coach, and not even know it. Not all college coaches where there college team when watching games.

Going into live period, so many players or even parents tell their kids they have to score/shoot to get noticed 🤦♂️. I tell my players, if your the best rebounder, defender, hardest sprinter from rim to rim, talkative on the court etc, do that. Don’t think it’s all about scoring!

Stop sleeping on Division 3!! Just because they don’t offer athletic scholarships doesn’t mean anything. Getting a Academic scholarship is amazing, having the grades to go there is amazing. Some amazing d3 programs out there. High level/high character players.

Only 7% of HS athletes play in college, less than 2% play at the Div 1 level, stop saying D1 or bust and be thankful you can be one of the 7%. Even if your not, enjoy the ride and memories, it’ll shape you up into the person in the future.

If a College Coach contacts you, the first thing out of your mouth should not be "what division are you?" Ask about the school, the majors they provide, get information to make sure it's best for you! Take notes! People skills, life skills!

We have to do better and teach them. AAU Coaches and teams it only took me 30sec to grab this and throw it away. Maybe after you tell your team to shake the other teams hands you tell them to grab a bottle and throw away. Not teaching any life lessons if we let them leave a mess.

So wait, he didn't got D1 or 2 out of HS? He went Juco (S/O Sierra College) for 2 years, then went D1, now drafted in the NFL in the 1st rd. Always believe, HS kids, if jucos are calling or texting, be polite and return the call. Everyone knows everyone!

I know parents can get crazy, what a lot don’t realize is these quality coaches get paid LESS than minimum wage to help coach your kid. The hours coaches put in, scouting, practice plan, etc. Nothing but support from families is what these coaches need.

Everyone wants to go D1. I get it. Think about it 7% of HS athletes play collegiate sports. 7%! It’s not where you start, the end goal and ultimate prize is the degree! Never lose sight in that. Because that degree doesn’t say D1, D2, D3, NAIA, started at Juco. GO AIM FOR THAT!

One of the toughest things when I go & watch games, of any age, but especially the young ones. Parents praise for scoring, but never anything else. U can effect the game in so many other ways. Praise them in other categories, so when they don’t score it’s not the end of the world

A lot of kids want to go D1, but honestly I’m not sure they understand the work that goes into it getting there and staying there. You can barely make it to AAU practices that’s once or twice a week, but you want to play at that level that goes everyday. Better change ur mindset

Athletes remember your never to big to return a text or message from a coach no matter the level. So many of us have connections or talk to coaches at all levels. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gotten asked about past players or players that are in our area. Be polite.

The ones that say their players and kids are too good for D2, D3, NAIA, Juco are ones that have never gone to a game. You need to go to a practice and game of those divisions and see the competitiveness and talent. All those divisions are no joke!!

I’ll be honest we might not have these so called 3, 4, 5 ⭐️players a lot of these big clubs have, but we got a shot to shock a lot of people this July. We play hard, unselfish, everything u want. Win or lose, these groups will compete till the end. Time to go surprise some people

What happens if I told you, you could play in college if you just rebounded the heck out of the ball? Or played the best defense? Be the best passer? You don’t always have to score, so families stop yelling at your kids to shoot. There is a reason why they are open sometimes.

One of the hardest things to watch in a game is the parents being childish in the stands. Respect the game, the officials, your own families, and the players on the team. How many dirty looks I see from families from players on their own team is sad. This is a TEAM sport!

Families sometimes are so worried on their kid not getting an offer or getting looks at “higher opportunities” but never seem that dedicated to their kids grades.
Make sure they are hitting the 📚 as much as they are playing.

Women's College Coaches I know a great 2021 HS senior still looking for a place to play. 5'11" knock down shooter. She doesn't play for me, but I've seen her journey since the 8th grade. Great student, great player I have film. She is going to help any team at the next level.
