My HS head coach/AD Coach Rodney Dowell. Coach changed our program, town, and kids mindset in Louise. Our girls/boys programs won everywhere. We had the best dang coaching staff in the state of Texas at Louise. First class man, first class program, thank you Coach ✅

Fun part about coaching is when drills from practice show up on film. Awesome situational ball security, eyes up during the cut and finishing stiff arm. Proud of you kid! There is no substitute for toughness!

This past year we had to run all of our pass plays to the right so the kids could remember the plays. I accidentally called a pass play to the left and the entire defense was on the right side of the field. No one was near our receiver

I remember walking this field with a spray paint top and bag of ant killer, climbing the fence into the ravine to get footballs. We had to make the field(measurements and string)and paint lines. Best experience I could have asked for. This place will always be special to me.

I use the Go Army Football App(Virtual Reality) to teach a play or concept first. Then I also have a cut up of the same play/concept of an NFL or College team running the same play. Kids get more invested seeing they do what college and pros do helps them learn.

We had a really young athletic QB so we used boots to get him out of the pocket. This simplified his progression as well, he only had to read half the field(hit the flat or mid crosser), or he could take off and run. Helped keep things simple and build his confidence.

Coach, I have used Nike Pegasus for a long time but just recently I have been wearing Brooks. Brooks are great especially if you are on turf. My feet never get sore at practice from the turf.

Happy retirement to an absolute Texas legend. Top notch program and a top notch man.
After 13 seasons Canadian HFC Chris Koetting is retiring. Koetting has led one of the top programs in Texas Panhandle history. Under Koetting, Canadian has become a blue blood on a state level going 165-24 with 3 state titles. Koetting was also 49-10 in the playoffs!
