AAU officiating is at an all time worst. The lack of effort, professionalism and desire to do their job is bothersome to me. The only thing they are passionate about is making sure players jerseys are tucked in their shorts.

My D1 college is charging 56k a year…what y’all need to start asking yourself…is my work ethic, attitude, skills, and game play ability worth 56k a year.
Be honest with yourself that’s the only way.

Public school organizations have got to do better at showcasing the talented basketball players you have in your schools. All the restrictions and saying no to things that will help them get to college is why so many seek private school opportunities.

A lot of parents are fighting the wrong war. Parents will go to war with a coach over playing time but their kids are walking around with less than a 2.0 gpa. Doesn’t make a lot of sense to me Hoops can only take your children so far. Knowledge is Power!!!

Hoop trainers are really trying to teach creativity and instincts, I don’t think that’s possible. Can we get back to having open gym to improve our players, these warehouse gym created players are tough to watch.
Also, not every drive to the basket have to have a euro step.

Let’s get back to teaching the game of basketball correctly in 2022. Let’s stop teaching all these moves and shots that are only good during a game of HORSE. Most of the nonsense these kids learn they won’t be asked to do in a real game nor can they pull it off in a game.

There are about 29 D1 schools 2-4 hours from the DMV area. If none of them are contacting you that means you aren’t on that levels radar and you need to keep working on your game. They all can’t be blind to your talent!!!

Until a kid has played major VARSITY minutes everything is hype, and potential. MS, Freshman, And JV Hoops don’t count, they are all one step above hooping at lunch with dudes wearing cargo shorts and skinny jeans.

Players go to trainers to learn how to play basketball. All they are working one on one moves to get to the basket.
Funny thing when it’s time to play a real game guys can’t seem to get those dribble moves to work or go by anyone to score consistently

This is what kids do in workouts now… Come off the ball screen, retreat, come off the screen again,snake dribble, step back, behind the back dribble, between the legs, euro, jelly layup.

A little throw back to when guys competed nightly to prove who was the best. It was really no days off!! The best performed nightly. Iron really sharpens iron cause I would race to the Post to see what other guys did so I could try to match or beat them the next game.

Still trying to understand how a VHSL employee mid game comes to the bench trying to correct players uniform that the officials on the court have allowed. Nobody has done this all season and why not check all uniforms before the game like mma?

Simple summer workout, it’s not hard..
Run 2 miles per day 7-9 minute pace per mile.
5 mins of jump rope
Gym or outside make 500 shots
Find a friend Play 1 on 1, and 3 on 3 with three dribble limit. Play for sprints, or even cash but compete.
Now go get better!
