I lost my mentor today…
Thank you for tough love, pop flies & loving my mother for 57 years.
You will forever be my hero.
Susan & I Love You, Rest Easy.
All you prospects tweeting your offers, be sure and tag your high school coach and high school program...They’re the ones with you 300 plus days, not 30.
Hearing of kids getting offers and not one call to the high school coach 🤷🏻♂️
I’d prolly call the guy/gal that’s with them close to 365… just a thought:)

Had a parent ask me to give them the
#1
thing that would help win their kid an athletic scholarship to the NAIA or D2 level? My reply was, and always will be, the ACT...

Special… He loved her show- Without a doubt, a staple on Saturday evenings in the den, growing up in Atlanta during the mid 70s:) ❤️
Coached my kid in a post season event a few years back... Made an impact on him in a short amount of time... Exemplifies a builder of men

I love Friday night lights... I love a packed gym in mid January for a big district game... I love spittin seeds & watching spring sports...

Hallowed ramp at Glass House... EVERY player & coach thinks of that walk up to the floor all year... We are here this week- no tweets of scores, no shovels or belts passed out... Just developing...

Started my career in a frozen push-up…Took notes in camps from Meyer, Insell, Mayfield, Rickard, Prudden, Harlowe & Rogers…I owe them more than I have.
Today, I question if some could identify even 4 of these 7 who pioneered the high school game so much in TN?

High School Girls Basketball Players… Do you want to keep playing?
Get in the gym, continually
Prep for ACT (D2s stack money) & D3s offer just academic aid
That’s a very very small % that play D1… It’s highly competitive & the Portal puts you at a greater disadvantage.
Headed back to Chapel Hill today... Enjoyed my time with my mentor... Seems to be on the road back to normalcy... Thanks for everyone’s thoughts and prayers.
Always learn a lot watching the mid major coaches… Bus trips vs Charter flights, Jimmy John’s vs Outback, Sleep Inn vs Westin… And they just keep winning…

RIP Coach Dooley… Wrote me a note when I was 8, still have it today
@GeorgiaFootball
Always listened to the Georgia games on the radio with my dad from that day forward.
Saturday’ with Larry Munson growing up in Gwinnett County was something I won’t forget.
Substate pre-game in Lynnville... Few coaches and a prep beat writer... Big Johnny at Soda Pop never disappoints... Can’t find

I enjoy catching up with former players.. This one had some toughness and could kill a zone! Hope the concession vouchers made up for the chewings
@Coach_Rutledge_
The 2019 Class is picking up steam & being viewed by collegiate coaches in various sports..Remember this..Roughly 2% of HS athletes will play at the D1 level..Don’t be consumed by level and go with who wants you & where you can thrive... D2s & NAIAs stack $..Prep for the ACT!
Longtime sports writer Maurice Patton honored for… | TSSAA
I think we go back 25 years? Regardless, I appreciate your friendship and commitment to high school athletics
@mopatton_sports
In the ATL today hanging with my mentor… He’s ready for Game 3 and still gave me some instructions at 81! “Get some rest, busy 4 months approaching for you!”
Warms my heart to see this.. A kid doing ball handling in her high school gym.. what a novel idea.
No cones, handler or trainer in site.
Enjoy the run Scott, bright future
