Obviously beating them in the next election is the ultimate leverage, but phone zaps don’t organize ppl they encourage isolated individual action. Under specific circumstances it may be the tactic that makes sense but it’s over-relied on imo. Get ppl in the same physical space!

@Luki_Laufeyson Public debate and criticism is good and makes us stronger. I talk about what I’m doing all the time. I talked about problems with what I’m doing in my original post. I don’t hide everything behind closed doors and private convos and I never will.

@Luki_Laufeyson Okay, now that I’m fully informed with all the local context I stand by my original statement. Ppl should respond to criticism directly instead of vague tweeting and flexing growth, period. If that disorganizes(?) you I apologize but we gotta roll with the punches

@Luki_Laufeyson Respectfully, this is exactly what I’m talking about. I’ve said several times I’m proud of the work Philly DSA is doing, I just don’t see it as a shield to deflect criticism. If we can’t even make light suggestions to each other like this without ppl taking it personal thats bad

@Luki_Laufeyson I’ve had three different ppl including Patrick dm me with details. I agree with Patrick in this specific dispute, and I think it would’ve been better for him to directly address the upcoming vote rather than rest on “we’re gaining members and making electeds like us” as a shield

@Luki_Laufeyson If you make vague general statements you’re gonna get general replies. I’m not attacking Patrick’s character here I just don’t think this is a good way to respond to the “noise” (people disagreeing with you)

@Luki_Laufeyson Glad to hear it! I don’t think it’s a misinterpretation since Patrick didn’t mention anything specific. The general “ppl are criticizing us but we’re gaining a lot of members” sentiment just isn’t something I think we should keep deploying

@ptadoherty Patrick didn’t offer any specifics beyond “ppl are criticizing us BUT we’re growing and getting closer to electeds!” and that’s not healthy or substantive. Vague and general statements like this can get general replies and I don’t think it’s out of bounds to crit our org
