Watched the 4K Remaster of 'The Raid' last night and I agree—the revamped color grade makes you feel like you're watching an entirely new film. It looks (and sounds) incredible, and this rewatch reminded me why 'The Raid' remains such a benchmark in the action genre.
FINALLY got to see the 4K Remaster of "The Raid" this week and my god the new color grade dramatically improves the vibrancy and the mood of the film, particularly this stylized neon-blue tinted flat fight which exudes a contrasting color tone to the rest of the film, love it🔥🙌

Not even one of Jackie's best movies and it's flawlessly composed and edited by Sammo and his team. Each shot logically connects to the next, and it's entertaining to watch and easy to follow even with the sound off.
It was weird watching a modern action movie right after watching Mr. Nice Guy because Sammo Hung directs the hell out of those action scenes. Wide shots, and clear edits, you get the full stunt and not a chopped-up fight salad.

'Hapkido' is just one of the best martial films of the 70's, full stop. Angela Mao is a living legend.
Shout out Angela Mao. Watched Hapkido again last night and it’s amazing to watch how she steals the movie. She has a natural gracefulness in her moves and her martial arts shine here. An all around bad ass too as she just mows down her male opponents. What an absolute legend.

Just saw 'Silent Night' and kinda think it's crazy the movie is getting mixed reviews. Sure, it's more gritty and grounded, less operatic than Woo's other Hollywood films like 'Face/Off,' but the lack of dialogue feels like it freed Woo up to focus purely on visual storytelling.

'Twilight of the Warriors' was *excellent* while also subverting my expectations. The action in this is FAST, and the fights seem to become less attached to reality as they go on. But there's also a real Crime Drama here, with classic HK themes of loyalty and brotherhood.
