Rewatched this last night. It rules. McQuarrie brings slick, clean direction and bursts of curt, nasty violence, finessing the PG-13 rating with the dexterity of a Code-era pro. It's a tough, brutal bit of pulp that harks back to THE WAY OF THE GUN.
