I’m deeply disappointed that our Democratic elected officials have yet to address this—especially given that this facility is in Erie County. Our correctional officers are facing historically low morale and unprecedented safety risks - especially with the reduced staffing. The very least they deserve acknowledgement.
Collins Correctional Facility was placed on lockdown yesterday following an incident at the prison earlier in the morning. The New York State DOCCS said that all staff and inmates are accounted for and safe.
