@ChrisRinvesting @ChinaEV_Eng_Lif @TaylorOgan 3/3 A lesson learnt perhaps because for what it's worth we haven't seen the same grand overtures of future ADAS abilities for NT3 as we did for NT2. It obvious timelines for ADAS features is not so straightforwards.

@ChrisRinvesting @ChinaEV_Eng_Lif @TaylorOgan 2/3 It's a bit of a miss & a perhaps a lesson to learn from for NIO in the fact that what they announced for NT2 ADAS wise hasn't been realised in its lifecycle enough for them to feel comfortable charging for the current level of ADAS.

@ChrisRinvesting @ChinaEV_Eng_Lif @TaylorOgan 1/2 I'm interested how its structured. Cos with NIO NT1 & NT2 we haven't seen real pricing since the subscriptions got push back another year. And with NT3 on the horizon will be interesting to see how they structure pricing as differences in capabilities widen.

@ChinaEV_Eng_Lif @TaylorOgan Admittedly I'm not a super knowledgable about the ins and outs of Teslas. Do people with HW3 & a lower FSD Beta pay the same subscription as those with HW4 & higher level of FSD Beta?

@ChinaEV_Eng_Lif @TaylorOgan Yes nothing is “free” hence why I put it in “” to begin with. But the point is they will provide the best ADAS the sensors and chipset are capable of free of charge. No ongoing subscriptions. No having the HW but needing to pay an additional SW fee.

@TaylorOgan 2/2 So since BYD has been selling loads of NEV without leading ADAS, BYD entering the ADAS wars means they finally think it's a feature real customers want For the longest time ADAS has been something us smart EV nerds love, but didn't seem high on customers list when buying.

@TaylorOgan 1/2 It was only a matter of time before BYD waded into ADAS properly. I think it marks a point in the Chinese EV market. BYD has been selling shed loads of cars with, if we are completely honest, very mediocre ADAS. I have to see for myself if this God's Eye is any good BUT...

@CovidNoGood yes i imagine “just add a table” would mean a lot more crash testing lol. Yeah these 3rd party tables hit the market once the L9 came out. They all modelled on the L9 table design.

@InsideChinaAuto @ChrisRinvesting IIRC Li Auto offers for “free” the best ADAS the cars hardware allows. And Xpeng was a single time fee not sure about these days. Nio is trying to go subscription route. But they put it back another year and gave users another free year of their City ADAS

@CovidNoGood The ducks were/are a kind of mascot for the brand. They are trying to make ONVO for fun and family friendly with the little bobble heads and the ducks to show certain car features. The white duck in the ONVO to show the darken roof kept the inside cool. The yellow duck in the Y

@InsideChinaAuto @itskyleconner Agreed hahah. It does the basic L2 stuff ok. Which honestly is more than a lot of the very cheap vehicles. But with Firefly and Mona coming in are we about to witness cheap city ADAS battle!
