One of our cars was struck last night by a driver who went through a red light and had an initial blood alcohol content of ".205", 2 1/2 times the legal limit. Fortunately our officers were not very seriously injured. The offender was.

Last night, our Tactical Team executed a search warrant on beat 1914 at the home of a suspected narcotics dealer (and convicted felon). We recovered:
4 loaded handguns; approx. 700 g. suspect cannabis; 20 g. suspect powder cocaine

Last night the 1961 Tact Team found an illegal gun, leading to a search warrant & 367 g of cannabis & 23 g of crack. The target wasn't home when the warrant was served, but when he got home later he called 911 to report a Burglary. Yeah, he's in custody.

Last night Tact Team 1961 while on targeted patrol at Wilson & Racine observed a gang member w/ a gun. They safely de-escalated the encounter & arrested the offender, who was paroled in June for agg battery w/ a firearm, sentenced to 9 yrs in May 2012. Great work!

About 3:00 this morning your beat officers saw a subject leave a yard 2400 blk Southport with a bicycle. The officers conducted an investigatory stop which led to this gang member from 1400 blk Canal being charged with several counts of burglary from the neighborhood. Nice work!

Our officers recovered a fake ATM card reader in a store in the 3000 block of N. Halsted. The cash dispensing part had a micro camera in it to capture PINs. Always make sure the reader is securely attached before inserting your card and cover the PIN pad.

After a man was beaten and robbed in the 800 block of Belmont early Saturday morning, community members who witnessed the incident held the offender until police arrived. We don’t want anyone getting hurt doing so, but a shout out is in order for getting involved.

The 1962 responded to a call of suspicious auto with occupants. Officers recovered (1) Glock Model 45 9mm handgun with the below attachment / gun kit. The investigation also revealed the vehicle to be stolen. Officers took 2 into custody and charged them accordingly. Great Work!

Last night about 10:45 POs Woods, Jr, & Cohen and PPO Delacruz assisted a man whose electric wheelchair motor malfunctioned. Assisting POs secured the intersections & the officers pushed him home from Belmont & Broadway to Aldine & Clark, almost 1/2 mile w/ the heat index at 90°.
