On 3/15, I agreed to write this. On 3/16, the Atlanta shootings happened--making this essay feel infinitely harder, but infinitely more important to write. So honored to have it alongside the work of these amazing Asian and Asian American photographers.

Defining what biological age means is a notoriously complex concept, and I interpreted it as turning a biological "thing" (ex. cells) into a functional state analogous to that of a younger age. I welcome all critiques on this interpretation!
