@stevenosborne @habakkuk7 Yes absolutely! The last movement particularly. I was sitting on the platform very close to the keyboard. I remember it like it was yesterday not just over 54 years ago.

@stevenosborne @habakkuk7 I think to some extent it depended on the piece. I heard him play the C minor D958 in Festival hall in 1970 when he was at the height of his powers and it was electrifying.

Interesting view from @billicritic on Marianne Faithfull's stage work. Most of the obits seem to have completely ignored that side of her work.

@StevenIsserlis Thanks for these Steven. Wonderful. I personally have to add Radu's live recording of D934 No1 from 2012. Some of the most beautiful and moving Schubert playing I've ever heard.

@VFleischfresser First time I heard Sviatoslav Richter live - RFH Dec 7th 1970 seated on the stage just a few yds from the keyboard. Closely followed by Alfred Brendel’s final concert Dec 18th 2008 in the Musikverein.

@amwilson_opera I remember the great pianist Solomon writing that he got more upset by a good review of one his concerts he had considered below par than a bad review of one where he thought he’d played as well as he could.

@warwickmansell When my son was at school in late ‘80’s he learned to cook in domestic science (including how to skin a rabbit!) now spends his life cooking in his deli. By the time his sister went there in ‘90’s it had become food technology and she spent her time designing a pizza packet!

@MishalHusain Huge loss to BBC but this sounds like a richly deserved appointment. One of the finest interviewers/presenters currently working in the media.
