@strghtforward Yeah but not the point. Netflix offers cheap rate, bcs in hope to attract larger audience. But they only do that, bcs internet is accessible to large section of population at a cheaper rate. Netflix is web, data cables r internet. Internet first has to exist for Web to flourish.

Prior to the 1970s, before the Gulf boom when Kerala was poorer than Bihar, Mallu migrations to Greater Bihar was not uncommon. My grandfather was a Chemistry professor at Patna University before shifting to Kerala. Kerala should never take economy for the granted. Build metros.

@strghtforward Plus most the cost of a trade war will mostly be paid by west Bengal. So Modi can blame Mamata for that anyway. If he wanted put a sledge hammer through the relationship, he could have done that by now. All with minimum to him. But we simply aren't ready to take in more migrants

@strghtforward There is a reason why EU has a such a long drawn onboarding process. Once you do way with borders for goods, labour, capital, the combined jurisdiction is basically a country and the national government are as powerful as state governments.
When you don't force your rich regions to trade with your poor regions, then you are just punishing your poor regions for sharing a monitory union with you. N as per capita dif goes âŹď¸, so does migration That's why EU has so many preconditions bfr they on board new members.

ASEAN works, bcs most of the participant countries are cosmopolitan and has higher tolerance for diversity. So even if Laos has a 𤥠government, damage caused due to any excess by Laotian gov, can be reversed with emmigration of Laosians to Thailand.
