Huge march in west London against the vaccine (which is saving lives), masks (which they don’t have to wear) and lockdown (which finished two weeks ago). Still, nice for them to have a day out in London 🤷♂️

I loved your memoir but this is deranged and dangerous thinking. Hatred of American governance and power has blinded you to the very obvious depravity of Putin’s regime.

Immensely sad news. John le Carré was a literary giant to set alongside Dickens, Conrad and Greene. He was the source on which we all drew, a writer of genius whose novels will be read a hundred years from now. My deepest condolences to his family and friends.

Anybody else finding it absolutely bewildering that nothing has been seen of the Prime Minister or Chancellor in over 24 hours? If ever there was a chance to make their case to the British public and calm the markets, yet they hide from view. Staggering.
Talking to my sister, who lives near Sydney, about the Melbourne lockdown. "Australia is like the Spice Girls," she said. "We were fine until Victoria messed everything up."
“The first Kite novel was excellent, but this is even better. Superbly constructed, it never hurries, but evokes the world of espionage in a way the late John le Carre would have much admired.’ Great review of JUDAS 62 in

is stone cold brilliant. It's the best espionage thriller I've read in yonks (including Mick Herron & Le Carré's latest) *and* it looks like being the beginning of a whole series. Buy it now. You won't regret it. (Even after coming across my tiny cameo.)
What is Box 88? The new thriller from
@CharlesCumming
arrives in October and features an organisation that doesn't exist and a spy that can't be caught. We're thrilled to reveal more and that you can secure signed copies right here:

Great FT review for BOX88: "An ambitious coming-of-age story combined with an enthralling spy thriller. Strong characterisation, a well-engineered structure, a rich back story... the pages virtually turn themselves. Cumming is now at the pinnacle of British espionage writers."
I'm thrilled to announce that 'The Man Between' (aka 'The Moroccan Girl') has been shortlisted for the 2018 McIlvanney Prize, given to the Scottish Crime Novel of the Year:...

If Cummings is such an all-seeing political genius he would have gone to bed last night thinking: “I’m a liability. If I don’t resign this government is finished.” He isn’t, he didn’t and he won’t.
Dune is extraordinary. Vast and beautiful and brilliantly made. One part Shakespeare in space, one part Star Wars, one part a very long, expensive Tom Ford perfume ad. Watching Timothy Chalamet you get the same buzz you felt discovering diCaprio for the first time 25 years ago.
You’ve got to hand it to the man. Theme tunes to Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Harry Potter... and he still finds time to grow a really cracking bag of spuds...
Thought The Serpent got off to a shaky, uncertain start. Almost gave up on it. Next thing I knew I’d inhaled six episodes in 24 hours. Strongly recommended.
