When we say that our proposals on academic freedom and not being arrested for protesting are opportunities for the administration to protect the university’s reputation, this is what we mean.
@jacremes I was all ready to apply to NYU Masters program then folks I know were attacked by the university for protesting ethnic cleansing. NYU has made themselves clear that they will punish those who step out of line, which includes students & faculty peacefully promoting human rights…

Preventing the NYU administration from this sort of self inflicted wound is why we’re fighting for a strong AI article in our first contract.
The Cal State system, where I teach, just announced a murky but far-ranging & evidently unprecedented public-private initiative to, per the Chancellor, “establish the CSU as the nation’s first and largest AI-powered public university system[.]” This is very concerning imo,
