@mikemearls @John_Cyrano A shame that they want to force red dragons to always universally be evil, apparently skin color has to be a factor for good and evil across all settings, Eberron included I want to see good red dragons and evil gold dragons

@mikemearls I hate how it returns to problematic aspects of dnd & doesn’t move further away from it. Things like dragons or elves having skin color determine good or evil is stupid + not setting agnostic I don’t like stories involving the murdering of chromatic hatchlings & drow infants

@mikemearls If the monster Manual is meant to be setting agnostic, why force weird bioessentialism with things like dragons? The whole problematic concept of skin color determining good & evil is not a thing in all settings In Eberron, there are good chromatic dragons & evil metallics

@mikemearls Why wasn’t there ever a variant rule for playing without alignment made? Alignment is something that is controversial and a lot of people don’t like. I feel like making alignment optional would have been healthy for the game

@mikemearls I would argue for some classes, subclasses are very important. Clerics and sorcerers for example. Clerics can’t be good at espionage without trickery domain spells and sorcerers can’t heal without divine soul This is why their subclasses should have remained at level 1
