@MikeInOttawa2 @Fed_Up_GenXer @truckdriverpleb I can tell you never looked at the requirements. Atleast not all of them

@ZizFizziks @dirk_jones48 @CoryBMorgan I have alot of family who own small dairy farms and beef farms too (which rely on the dairy farms for calves), and sometimes I work on the farms. So technically, I'm occasionally paid by small dairy.

@cdnguyincognito @ztisdale It's because your president threatened to invade us. It's that simple.

@indieauntieowl @CheriDiNovo Nato article 5 refers to an actaul attack of a member nation, not aggressive rhetoric

Not really. They are required to come to our defence if we are attacked. We also shouldn't expect them to stand up for us when many of our first reactions to Trumps tarrifs was to throw mexico under the bus. We need to show that Trump can be stood up to, be an example of international solidarity, and provide a viable alternative to trade with the US before we can reasonably expect them to stand fully with us. It's shitty, but we shouldn't expect them to be better than us when we pleaded with trump that "we aren't mexico, please dont do this to us. Just do it to them"

@AnnRolle_ @JustinTrudeau @cafreeland @liberal_party Allegedly, it was a misinformation campaign to get Conservatives to disproportionatly target Freeland more with their disinformation. You likely played a roll in this. By your logic, why should we listen to you when when you are "on china's side"

@dirk_jones48 @CoryBMorgan That's not a Canadian issue. It's a global issue. With mechanization it's impossible to compete without millions invested in equipment and infrastructure

@CoryBMorgan That's an issue of corporate consolidation of farms. Not supply management. If it was a supply management issue, why have we seen the exact same pattern, often worse, in every other country when they don't have supply management?

Have you ever heard of the concept of soft power? Basically, you give countries money, then tell them that unless they comply with American interests, they won't receive the money anymore. It's incredibly effective and allows you to maintain influence more broadly and effectively than any military could, while maintaining and even fostering peace. It's always been considered the greatest tool of American global dominance. Why do you think China is investing in other countries? Both China and America aren't simply doing it out of the kindness of their hearts. It's a means of obtaining soft power

@Fed_Up_GenXer @truckdriverpleb Being a permanent citizen is a requirement to vote in the Liberal leadership race

It's called a parliamentary system. This is how it works in many countries across the world. I think you're confusing our system with other forms of government. Basically, you don't elect a PM. They are just a mouth piece who serves as a manifestation of the views of the collective MPs of their party. The only person anyone is really voting for is their individual local MP. That's how it's always been. We've had PMs who've become PM like this before. So have dozens of nations across the world.

Nobody "votes for" a prime minister unless he's an MP and they are in his district. You vote for local representatives of a party who are advocating for things you want, then ideally, and most often, they are in a party that aligns with those views and policies, and if enough of that party wins their leader becomes prime minister. You aren't voting for any individual beyond your MP and what they represent. The PM is just a collective manifestation of the views of MPs in his party. Not a directly elected official.

@ztisdale You mean we are mad at the guy threatening to economically devastate and annex our country? Because yes, most people of most countries would be absolutely pissed at anyone doing either of those things.

The majority of Canadain elections have been won without the popular vote. We have multiple parties, and the winner is determined by the culmination of many local elections, not one big election where everyone is voting for or against a single person. The popular vote does not exist in Canada. You don't seem to understand what a parliamentary system is.

@FoodProfessor Justin Trudeau only has people in his riding vote for him. Same with all of the party leaders. You only vote for your local Member of Parliament.
