Traditional methods of surveillance, such as national household surveys with HIV testing, are still important, but they have limitations—especially in settings where the incidence of new infections is lower or falling, making it harder to track changes and emerging hotspots. Learn more about the Kuzama pa Kalondo (KPK) project which is leveraging routine health data, targeted surveillance, and advanced methodologies in developing an example, and case study for a modernised HIV surveillance strategy bespoke for settings seeking to sustain high coverage and effectiveness of HIV programmes and continued decline of new HIV infections:
